The Best Archery Ranges in Singapore That Make Us Feel Like We’re Katniss
When I was a child, I read and watched The Hunger Games, and became obsessed with Katniss Everdeen, especially her skill with the bow and arrow. I wanted to become an archer too, but I didn’t think it was possible anymore.
Thankfully, I was proven wrong because archery is a sport that’s still going strong. There are also several archery ranges in Singapore where I can take classes and even participate in competitions!
Here are my favorite archery ranges that I checked out.
Salt and Light Archery

If you can only visit one archery range in Singapore, let it be Salt and Light Archery. This actually has two locations (one in West Coast Park and another in ESR BizPark), but my go-to is the one in ESR BizPark because it’s indoors and has air conditioning.
What I like about Salt and Light Archery is that they offer a wide range of courses. There are several options for beginners, and if you just want to shoot for fun, you’re also free to spend an hour shooting as many arrows as you can.
So far, I’ve tried the basic archery course using the modern recurve bow, but I’m interested in trying classes for compound and traditional bows. There are also advanced classes that I want to take in the future.

Simply Archery Club

As the name suggests, Simply Archery Club is all about making archery as simple as possible so that newcomers can come and try without feeling pressure. Even children as young as four years old and people with special needs can try archery here!
This archery range is focused mostly on fun shoots. Basically, they will give you the equipment and let you shoot as many arrows as you want at the target. They might give you basic tips, but you’re free to do whatever (so long as you’re not hurting anyone).
Personally, I like to come here for a birthday party or a hangout session with friends. It’s just the perfect place to unwind with people you love or unleash the pent-up frustration you have about life.

Flaming Arrows Archery

Established in 2005, Flaming Arrows Archery is a private archery club that’s perfect for anyone who is serious about their archery journey. Many of their members have gone on to participate in national and international competitions!
If you’re new to archery, you can start with the Basic Archery Package, which is perfect for anyone aged 10 and above. If your child is younger than 10, they can still enroll, but they’ll have to get one-on-one supervision.
After the basic course, you can move up to intermediate classes. Once you’re skilled enough, you can start joining competitions if you want!
I didn’t attend a class here, but I did come here for a birthday party. It was a fun time, and I really liked that the range was private, so we had the freedom to be as loud as we wanted while shooting arrows.

Punggol South Archery Center, Archery Club of Singapore

The Archery Club of Singapore is another popular private club that will appeal to anyone who wants to become a professional archer. Their main center is located in Punggol, and they offer a wide variety of coaching programs—from beginners to advanced.
They also have a Junior Archery Training Program that’s more intensive and helps young archers to become part of the elite crowd. People who join this program end up participating in all sorts of competitions—local, national, and even international.
Of course, they have fun shoots as well. Available only on Saturday morning, a fun shoot is perfect for people who just want to try shooting an arrow from a bow without thinking about joining a class.
The club also welcomes team-bonding activities and events for corporate and school. We came here once, and the whole session lasted about three hours. I really liked that there were many coaches who were ready to assist us the entire time.

SEarchery

Located in East Singapore, SEarchery is mostly a shop selling all sorts of archery equipment, but did you know that you can also shoot arrows here? For a fee, you can try your hand at archery in a closed range and see if you can hit the targets!
Of course, you can also book archery events. I tried once having a family day here, and it was such a grand ole time. We were able to have fun shoots and even participate in tactical archery games!
Sometimes, SEarchery holds its own events like competitions and public family days. Feel free to watch these events or even participate in them if possible.

Dragon Archery

If you’re in Ang Mo Kio, the archery range closest to you is Dragon Archery. This place is technically an archery store, but they also have a range (that has air conditioning, by the way) if you want to give this sport a try.
If you want to learn more about archery, you might be interested in signing up for any of the courses and coaching programs. These classes will take you along the basics and prepare you for possible competitions (if that’s what you want).
My favorite thing about the classes here is that they can be easily customized to fit your needs. Plus, if you have your own range at home, they’d be more than happy to conduct the classes there!

The Archery Academy

What I like about The Archery Academy is that their range is located outdoors on a wide lawn. Because of this, shooting arrows at targets makes me truly feel like I’m Katniss participating in the Hunger Games!
Aside from being able to let my fantasy run wild, this range also offers a wide variety of classes. If you’re not sure about committing your time and energy to a class, you can take a trial lesson with a coach who’ll teach you the basics.
Once you’re ready to commit, you can start taking the basic course and then progress toward the advanced and elite courses. You’ll be ready for competitions in no time!
Of course, you can also have fun events here. In particular, I enjoy the Funshoot activity because I get to pop balloons with a bow and arrow. It’s so satisfying to see and hear them pop!

DM Archery

Located near East Coast Park, DM Archery is a relatively smaller archery range, but it’s well-equipped with the latest gear and operated by certified instructors who are incredibly sweet and supportive.
What I like most about this range is that their classes are customizable. You can join group classes, but you can also have private lessons instead if you want more one-on-one time with your instructor.
The classes are also perfect for any age! So, if you have a child who has expressed an interest in archery, you can have a class tailored for them here.
