Great for socialising
“Great ambience for a hearty chat with my friend on a Sat afternoon! Made reservation and headed down, no fuss! The food was great too! Truffle fries was crispy and nice tho the truffle taste not that strong, the best was the wings! Will be back for desserts next time :)”—Crystal Yeo, Google Reviews
Pleasant brunch or breakfast cafe
“Had the Lola’s breakfast and truffle fries. I enjoyed the toast which was full of buttery goodness and aroma. But bacon was good but not crispy enough. The sausage was a bit too porky smell for me. The scrambled eggs was excellent with the right consistency and texture. But overall it was a good breakfast plate. The fries served was piping hot. The flat white was strong. All in all..a pleasant breakfast.”—Tiffany Avi, Google Reviews

Hip setting, food, and drinks
“Hip setting, staff, food and lattes, hip prices but luckily everything hits the right spot so I am a hippy (happy) customer! All the best!”—The Wayfarer, Google Reviews
All-around excellent service, ambience, and food
“In a little corner with glass windows, the minimalist cafe looks clean and inviting. I was won over by its chic interior with white tiles and finishes, accompanied by gorgeous grey and gold coffee machines. I’m not a coffee person but I was enticed by the huge croissants displayed. Eventually, I ordered mains as I was hungry. The food was presented very beautifully with its good sized seafood for my seafood aglio olio. But the chocolate banana cake took the stage. That one u got to try. I was there on a Tuesday night and the place wasn’t crowded – my friend told me its normally crowded, i guess i was lucky. Had the chance to catch up with a friend I haven’t met in a year. The staff gives u the space and privacy, yet very very attentive to our orders and requests. Awesome staff, Dutch colony is lucky to have them.”—Rau A.K., Google Reviews

Inspiring staff members
“Staff at Tampines 1 shop is hearing impaired and he showed me a card to let me know. Still he could understand when I asked him for a recommendation on which drink to pick. He was polite and pleasant to deal with. I had the dalgona coffee as recommended. It was a good strong coffee, sweetened by honey comb, just the way I like it.”—Avril Teo, Google Reviews

Made with the freshest ingredients
“Lucky to get a table. Place was packed. Good food with fresh ingredients. We polish off most of the stuff. I think they are better at the sweeter breakfast (pancakes, pear and bread) as compared to spaghetti.”—Cheow Mong Chan, Google Reviews

With its spacious and quiet setting, Twenty Eight Cafe is a haven for people searching for the best cafes to study in the central area. The cafe is accessible from Orchard and is a great spot if you want to grab a bite while working or studying.
There’s just a two-hour time limit which, for some people, may not be sufficient time to get some work done. The area is quite conducive to productivity, so we still highly recommend the cafe as a study spot.

Best kimchi beef bowls
“Great location, very spacious inside, great food and coffee. I normally order the full breakfast dish whenever I go to brunch places. A friend recommended the beef kimchi rice, so I decided to break my routine. So glad I did. This is one of the best beef bowls I’ve tried. Highly recommended.”—Jasper Lim, Google Reviews
Quite and spacious cafe
“It’s a nice cafe with western food. It’s popular for cyclists. Look at the bike rack. The good quality is very good. I came here for a background interview with a journalist. It is too noisy when the cyclists came in. But it is mostly quiet. A very good conversation.”—Andreas Harsono, Google Reviews
