The Best Delectable Durian Cakes in Singapore

As someone unapologetically obsessed with durian, finding the perfect durian cake in Singapore has been my quest. Whether it’s a birthday treat or an excuse to indulge, I’ve scoured the island to hunt down the most decadent and flavourful options.

For fellow durian lovers or anyone curious about this bold dessert, you’re in luck. From local bakeries to high-end patisseries, here’s my curated list of the best places serving durian cake that’ll make every bite worth the indulgence.

99 Old Trees Durian is perfect if you’re after a dessert variety without buying the whole durian. For true durian lovers, the staff labels the durians with flavour notes, making it easy to choose according to your taste.

My top fave here is the durian mousse which is best enjoyed fresh when dining in. The Swiss roll is a great takeaway treat, ideal for satisfying cravings one slice at a time.

Pro-tip: Pastry lovers, don’t miss the Stinky Bomb with its crispy crust hiding silky, creamy durian that’s pure heaven in every bite.

I go to Ms Durian for two must-tries: the MSW durian cake and the whisky durian cake. The MSW cake has layers of creamy durian between vanilla sponge, while the whisky version adds a rich, boozy twist with whisky-infused sponge and meringue for extra texture.

Another reason to go here would be the durian puffs with a side of durian ice cream. Surprisingly, all that durian-ness is not overwhelming at all (both in taste and smell)!

Pro-tip: Pair your dessert with the shop’s special durian coffee which has a unique, flavourful blend.

Golden Moments

I head to Golden Moments for special occasions to grab its durian mooncakes made with 100% pure black gold Mao Shan Wang durian purée with no sugar, cream, or preservatives, just pure durian bliss.

I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve tried all four mooncake flavours in the durian range, too. Don’t blame me; they’re addictive, especially when eaten frozen!

Pro-tip: When kept in the freezer, the mooncakes will stay fresh and delicious even after weeks.

At a friend’s birthday party, I got to try The Cake Shop’s Durian Fantasy cake, and it did not disappoint. The rich, creamy durian flavour was perfectly balanced with a light, fluffy sponge, making each bite a layered treat.

The quality is impressive, the durian filling is fresh and smooth, with just the right amount of sweetness. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s pretty to look at too!

Pro-tip: Get your durian cake delivered to your door for a S$12 fee on orders below S$150.

Delcie’s makes guilt-free desserts possible with vegan, baby-friendly, diabetic-friendly, and low-GI options. My family likes going here because it really feels like an indulgence without the guilt.

Then along came its MSW durian mooncake packed with rich, creamy durian that tastes so pure. That’s when I realised that durian can take on a delicate yet delicious form that transcends its pungent, spiky reputation.

Pro-tip: This cosy café is just a 2-minute walk from Boon Keng MRT exit.

Cat & the Fiddle

I finally tried Cat & the Fiddle’s pandan durian cheesecake, and it’s a game-changer for durian fans. The creamy durian filling blends perfectly with the aromatic pandan and smooth cheesecake base, making it rich but not overpowering.

The quality is spot on! The cake is velvety, with a balanced sweetness that lets the durian shine through. If you’re craving something unique yet comforting, this is a must-try.

Pro-tip: The durian cheesecake is halal-certified!

Ji Xiang Confectionery

If durian-flavoured kueh sounds odd, Ji Xiang Confectionery will change your mind. The perfect balance of chewy skin and filling, not too sweet, and best enjoyed fresh and warm—but still delicious even a day later.

Avoid microwaving these delicious Ang Ku Kuehs. Steam for 2–3 minutes instead. Or try pan-frying with a touch of oil for a crispy twist.

Pro-tip: Durian kueh sells out quickly. Arrive early or pre-order (no takeaways allowed).

If you love soft, pillowy cakes, this is the place to get your roll cakes. Rich & Good Cake Shop’s Durian Swiss roll is a crowd favourite, and I was lucky to snag one before it disappeared from the shelves.

Each old-school roll is beautifully crafted, with a perfect swirl of fluffy cake and creamy filling. And don’t worry about sugar crashes. The rolls are the perfect amount of sweetness without being too jelak.

Pro-tip: For the best taste, let refrigerated rolls sit at room temperature to “defrost” before serving.

Temptations Cakes

For a minor celebration, I recently indulged in Temptations Cakes’ MSW durian cake, and it blew me away. As a durian lover, I was thrilled by how perfectly it captured that rich, distinctive durian flavour.

The creamy filling is made with real durian meat, and it melts into a fluffy sponge like a dream. Every bite was an absolute treat, balancing flavours and textures just right.

Pro-tip: The shop can customise cakes to suit your child’s specific needs and preferences.

Four Seasons Durians

Four Seasons Durians has a tempting lineup of durian pastries and the signature durian pancakes. I tried its Premium Durian Swiss Roll, and it’s a true gem.

The soft, fluffy cake wraps around a smooth durian filling that’s pure heaven—rich, creamy, and just sweet enough. The quality is top-notch, and the generous amount of durian makes it a standout treat for special occasions.

Pro-tip: Visit the Four Seasons Durians website for promotions, discounts, and giveaways.

My go-to at Sunlife Durian Puffs & Pastries has to be the durian mochi—soft, not overly chewy, and filled with milky durian goodness that’s just right. At S$18 for a box of 20, it’s worth it.

The durian cream puffs are just as satisfying, packed with creamy filling and even bits of durian flesh. Plus, they freeze well for up to a week.

Pro-tip: Don’t miss out on the durian pancakes. The soft, chewy texture is a total win!

This bakery has been around for at least three decades, and it’s still going strong with its delicious old-school buttercream cakes. I still remember how moms and students would rush to grab the freshly baked French loaves the moment they came out of the kitchen.

The Pine Garden’s durian cake is a nostalgic treat—soft, fluffy layers paired with creamy durian filling that tastes like the real deal. It’s a perfect blend of old-school charm and durian goodness.

Pro-tip: This bakery currently only accepts cash. No NETS or card payments are available.
