You know that moment when you’re midway through a shopping spree at Changi City Point, and your stomach grumbles louder than a sale announcement? Been there, done that (and will most likely do it again)!

Lucky for you, I’ve scouted out the best food in the mall, from quick nibbles to hearty meals. Here’s the scoop on where to satisfy those cravings at this outlet haven.

If you’re in the mood for a Japanese-style buffet, Shabu Sai is a gem. It’s got everything from fresh veggies to tender meats, plus sauces like soy and chilli to spice things up.

My personal tip? Mix the sukiyaki and tonkatsu soup bases—you’ll love it! The beef is fresh and thinly sliced, just right, and if you’re after something lighter, the yuzu (Asian citrus) soup base is a refreshing choice.

Pro-tip: Add S$2.50 for unlimited ice cream and drinks.

I always find myself craving the grilled pork vermicelli and pork chop rice at Paper Rice—they’re super tasty, with juicy, flavourful grilled meat and plenty of ingredients.

But if you’re up for some heat, the spicy pork banh mi (baguette sandwich) is a serious contender. The marinade and chilli really bring the kick, and the fresh Vietnamese spring rolls in the set are perfect for cooling things down.

Pro-tip: The guava juice is freshly squeezed, making it an exotic yet refreshing surprise.

Aburi-EN

When I’m craving ramen, Aburi-EN is my go-to—the broth is delicious, not too salty or oily, with a solid garlic kick that’s perfect for Singaporean taste buds. The unagi and pork jowl variants are a must, especially with an egg on top.

But my favourite is the roast Wagyu don with its tender beef and perfectly balanced sauce. I can order it over and over without getting sick of it.

Pro-tip: Cap your meal with the yummy yuzu sherbet.

The White Tiffin

The White Tiffin dishes up authentic Nyonya flavours with its sampler platter of babi pongteh (braised pork belly), curry chicken, vinegar pork trotters, chap chye (mixed veggie stew), and beef rendang—all tasting freshly made from scratch.

The blue pea nasi lemak and laksa are plated beautifully, too. It’s a great place for an intimate date, as it’s a spacious spot with a relaxing vibe, especially if you come outside the lunch and dinner hours.

Pro-tip: The portions are perfect for two to share.

Whenever I’m in the mood for a post-shopping dim sum fix, The Dim Sum Place is where I head. The beef rendang chee cheong fun is a fun twist—silky rice rolls wrapped around tender, flavourful beef that melts in your mouth.

But I always make room for the crispy chicken dumplings, too—perfectly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. For dessert, I get the baked salted egg custard bun; it’s like biting into a little cloud filled with sweet, gooey goodness.

Pro-tip: The Dim Sum Place is halal-certified!

My family loves heading to Canopy for special celebrations. The truffle mushroom pizza is a standout; a delightful blend of earthy truffle and creamy mushrooms on a perfectly crisp crust. The tender Angus ribeye with its rich sauce is also a must-try.

Portions are generous, perfect for sharing with no one feeling left out. With all the greenery inside, it feels like a cosy escape from the city mall buzz.

At Sukiya Gyudon, the Yakitori dons have a great smoky BBQ flavour, and I find that the signature beef gyudon is even better with an onsen egg. The chicken karaage is crispy and juicy, while the garlic-tossed greens are surprisingly tasty.

Feeling extra hungry one day, I went for the extra-large beef bowl at under $9, with double the beef and 25% more rice than the original!

Pro-tip: Queues can get long during lunchtime, but they often move in as short as 10 minutes.

Wok Master

At Wok Master, the handmade prawn roll is always crispy and packed with flavour, and the pork belly is savoury perfection. I can’t get enough of the addictive salted egg pork ribs, and the tender three-cup chicken is a winner.

Also, the garlic-soy pork belly is generously seasoned with a mix of spices. The hor fun (flat rice noodles) comes with a deliciously smokey, fragrant aroma, so I was practically salivating when the dish came to our table.

Pro-tip: The French beans with dried shrimp are a must-try as an appetiser.

BLVD

I was surprised by the portion at BLVD—I ordered the half-roasted chicken expecting a small fowl but got a full, juicy, well-marinated chicken. The calamari and brownie with ice cream were great too.

Plus, it’s a fun spot to hang out with friends at night with happy hour deals on beers, wines, and spirits till 8 PM!

Pro-tip: Go for the pizza straight from the wood-fired oven—crispy and delicious with ice-cold beer.

Jollibee

The spicy chicken burger at Jollibee was juicy and well-layered, and the flavours were surprisingly good for fast food. The chilli dog had a tasty sauce and a sausage with a nice springy bite.

I also got the much-touted fried chicken here. The chicken was fried perfectly—crispy outside, juicy inside, with just the right amount of spice that goes well with a steaming cup of rice.

Pro-tip: Sundays are especially busy, with the ordering queue sometimes reaching up to 15 minutes.

Tonkatsu ENbiton

If you’re unsure what to order at Tonkatsu ENbiton, go for the karaage chicken with BBQ sauce—crispy and full of flavour. The menu is massive, and portions are big, so no need for extra rice or cabbage.

You also can’t go wrong with the katsu chicken curry rice; it’s tender, crispy, and served with a tasty, piquant black curry and a delicious miso soup.

Pro-tip: Meals come with unlimited rice and greens!

Viva Loca Bar in Changi is a great find for me and my workmates. Conveniently near offices, it’s perfect for unwinding with top-notch food, drinks, and fantastic live music on Friday nights for a fun night of singing and dancing.

The place serves Indian and Mexican cuisine. The shawarma is a must-try—I loved the chicken, lamb, and falafel fillings, and it’s a steal at S$10 per wrap (around S$12 for the lamb).

Pro-tip: If you’re into Hindi songs, drop by on the weekends, as they’re played all day.
