How We Picked

We assessed the best short-term rentals in Singapore based on the following criteria:

Value For Money: Short-term rentals in Singapore offer varying rates, and I made sure to narrow down listings from budget-friendly to luxury. I prioritised affordable rates that offer good value for money.
Location: Location is important when it comes to choosing the best vacation rentals in Singapore. I considered accessibility and the number of points of interest within walking distance.
Amenities: I gathered listings that have modern and well-maintained amenities such as a gym, swimming pool, lounge, and more.
Contract Flexibility: I made sure to gather listings that have fair and flexible contract terms regarding tenancy duration, rental policies, and security deposit.

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing Habyt’s home rental services, and we were genuinely impressed. The quality of their offerings was remarkable, with well-maintained and stylish properties that made us feel right at home.

Furthermore, the efficiency of their process was seamless. From initial inquiry to moving in, everything was handled smoothly and promptly.

Moreover, affordability is a significant highlight of Habyt’s service. Despite the high-quality homes and prime locations, the prices were surprisingly reasonable.

Additionally, the facilities provided by Habyt were top-notch. Each property we viewed came fully furnished with modern amenities, enhancing our comfort and convenience.

We also appreciated the flexibility in rental terms, which catered perfectly to our short-term and long-term needs. This adaptability is a rare find in the rental market.

Besides, their customer service was exceptional. Whenever we had questions or needed assistance, the support team was responsive and helpful.

Also, the community vibe in Habyt properties added a unique touch. Shared spaces and social events made it easy to connect with neighbors and feel part of a community.

Furthermore, the booking process was straightforward and user-friendly. The online platform was intuitive, allowing us to find and secure the perfect home effortlessly.

Lastly, the transparency in their pricing and terms was reassuring. There were no hidden fees or unexpected charges, which made budgeting much easier for us.

In essence, Habyt provided a hassle-free and enjoyable rental experience. We would highly recommend their services to anyone seeking quality, affordable, and efficient home rentals.

Pros

  • Excellent location

If you’re like me and you’re into artsy and tastefully decorated shophouse-type rentals that enable you to support the local community, then Figment may just be your cup of tea.

Figment’s collection of heritage short-term rentals is always located within vibrant districts in Singapore. I was lucky to get a room deep within Orchard, and despite its central and busy location, my stay was relatively quiet and relaxing.

My room was fully-furnished and came with a fully-equipped kitchen. There was private access as well, which I highly appreciated because the building I stayed at had six other rooms that shared a common hallway.

As part of my booking, I got weekly housekeeping, access to a washer and dryer, and an ultra-fast Wi-Fi connection. The other tenants had bigger beds and a study desk, but I was satisfied with the amenities in my room.

Figment also provides tenants with gym credits which you can use across multiple partner gyms within your area. It’s a nice touch because there was no gym or pool area in my building.

I also got free access to Figment Club House, which is a common social room where tenants of multiple Figment houses come together to drink, dine, and have fun.

I got to meet a lot of local artists here, and apparently, it’s a popular spot to get connected with the art scene within the community. If you’re into that kind of thing, then Figment is definitely a short-term rental to consider!

While I’ve got many great things to say about Figment, I did catch a few drawbacks. First and foremost, I think the short-term rental could improve its security measures.

There were limited security cameras around the building I stayed at, which I thought was a bit unusual for a place that housed several tenants at a time.

Second, the affordable rooms at Figment don’t have an ensuite bathroom. I didn’t particularly mind that initially, but it would’ve been nice to have my own space whenever I had to use the bathroom.

Pros

  • Excellent location
  • Tastefully decorated rooms
  • Fully-furnished listings

Cons

  • Security needs improvements
  • Budget rooms have no ensuite bathroom

Fully-equipped apartments

“Had a great time! Apartment is equipped with everything you need. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. The neighborhood is very conveniently located and although it’s a lively neighborhood the apartment is very quiet! Would absolutely recommend to stay there!”—Yash Malani, Google Reviews

Extremely well-maintained

“Figment has been one of the best stays in Singapore. The place was extremely well maintained, all amenities in place. The decor in particular is highly highly appreciated! It blends the modern art in a traditional setting, definitely uplifting the mood. Any problems in the apartment were solved within 24 hours. I would definitely recommend Figment for stays in Singapore.”—Manan Modi, Google Reviews

I didn’t push through with my stay at Cove, but I was able to take a tour around a few of the listings available at the time. I liked that the website allowed me to choose a district or neighborhood.

The interface was very user-friendly and easy to navigate, which I appreciated because it helped me narrow down my options quickly.

When I found a listing I liked, I emailed Cove about my interest, but it took them a while to respond to my offer.

When a representative did reply, however, they were pretty apologetic about their response rate.

I didn’t mind it at first until we settled on a tour date. Once I arrived at the listing’s address, I had to wait for almost an hour before a representative arrived to show me around.

Needless to say, customer service isn’t Cove’s strongest suit. Anyway, the representative showed me a total of three listings that day, and all were adequate places.

One listing had a shared bathroom, which I didn’t really like, but the rate was attractive. The other two were more luxurious and had more amenities than the first listing.

All listings were fully-furnished and offered flexible monthly contracts.

The flexibility enables tenants to renew their contracts after booking a stay for a minimum of 3 months.

Everything that has to do with tenancy agreements is done online, which I think is very convenient.

My only drawback about the listings, however, was that they all seemed a bit outdated. Some appliances weren’t working in mint condition, but Cove offers repair and housekeeping services upon request.

Pros

  • Flexible monthly contracts
  • Fully furnished listings

Cons

  • Lots of listings need maintenance
  • Customer service could improve

Lyf Funan’s rooms are probably one of my top recommendations for solo travellers. The hotel has family rooms available for short-term rental, but there isn’t a lot.

Plus, the hotel won’t provide extra beds, so I think that’s something worth noting before you try booking a budget room for more than two here.

On a more positive note, Lyf Funan’s amenities are pretty high-end. There’s a modern gym and spacious coworking spaces for travellers who need quiet workstations during their trip.

If you’re a digital nomad, you might find Lyf Funan to be a perfect short-term rental in Singapore.

There’s also Wi-Fi available in the rooms, but if you need to be on the go, the hotel can arrange for a pocket Wi-Fi connection upon request!

The staff members were also very welcoming and friendly when I came over for a visit. I was impressed by their hospitality and ability to converse in multiple languages!

There’s also a communal kitchen and lounge area where tenants can chill and hang out with other travelling guests in the building. Overall, Lyf Funan is a great place for people who love to travel and meet new people!

My only drawbacks, unfortunately, were that Lyf Funan is relatively pricier than most budget short-term rentals I’ve toured in Singapore.

With the hotel’s strict guest capacity, you might have to book multiple rooms if the bigger ones are unavailable (we heard from frequent travellers that they’re usually fully-booked).

Pros

  • High-end amenities
  • Best for solo travellers

Cons

  • Can’t provide extra beds
  • Relatively pricey

One reason why I like Fortville Serviced Apartments is that your stay comes with free parking. I didn’t realise how much of an advantage it is to have free parking when you’re booking a short-term rental in Singapore.

Regardless if you own the car or rented one out, it’s nice to not have to worry about extra parking fees or the inconvenience of finding a spot nearby.

Plus, Fortville Serviced Apartments has really good security. I visited the place for a tour and noticed that the building was very well-maintained and guarded with security cameras, guards, and staff members.

In short, if you’re in need of any assistance, there are friendly people nearby to ask for help.

Another benefit of booking at Fortville is the convenient location. There are landmarks close by and stations to help you get around by public transportation.

When it came to the rooms, I was lucky to check out a few suites during my visit. All of them are updated and clean, with private bathrooms and lots of space for work or recreation.

You can choose between a studio or executive unit with more than one bedroom.

The amenities are also quite impressive, especially for the bigger units since most of them had a living room and study area.

Fortville Serviced Apartments also has a swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, weekly housekeeping, and barbeque pit.

It’s a pretty neat space for socialising, but I noticed that there weren’t a lot of families booking rooms here.

When I asked the front desk about it, they mentioned that most of the rooms here are catered to couples or solo travellers.

They also don’t allow pets in any of the rooms, which I think is worth noting if you’re planning to bring along furry friends with you for a staycation.

Pros

  • Convenient location
  • Free parking

Cons

  • No pets allowed
  • Not suitable for families

My first impression of Treetops Executive Residences was that the security was on point.

The security guards will only let you in if you have a confirmed booking, and guests would have to secure a valid visitation reason from a tenant in order to visit the unit.

If you’re particular about safety, I’d say that Treetops Executive Residence is my top bet for you. If you don’t always have guests over, booking a short-term rental here would be a breeze.

Plus, the tenant community is pretty solid. The serviced apartments are very diligent in practising eco-friendly habits from washing to waste management.

The building also comes with a daily bus shuttle that will take you to your designated locations, free of charge. Travelling with children would be so much easier with such a service!

There’s an in-house cafe, tennis court, outdoor jacuzzi, jogging track and modern gym for tenants who want to stay in and enjoy the hotel’s amenities.

The bedrooms here are very spacious and come with a fully-equipped kitchen. Each bathroom is very clean, and some even have balconies that face the hotel’s inner courtyards.

In one of the rooms I toured, there was a washer and dryer installed in the kitchen (which I think is super useful).

My only other drawback aside from the super strict visitor policy was that pets are not allowed inside the establishment. Tenants with furry friends will have to book a short-term rental someplace else in that case.

Pros

  • Excellent security
  • Offers daily bus shuttle

Cons

  • Strict entry point
  • No pets allowed

When I first booked a staycation at Village Hotel, I quickly noticed how family-friendly the hotel was. Visiting it again for this review reminded me of the convivial and safe environment I enjoyed during my last stay here.

One of the best qualities of booking a short-term rental at Village Hotel is that location is nearby famous landmarks and a wide variety of food spots.

If you don’t want to dine in the hotel’s in-house restaurant, there are lots of food and beverage choices a stone’s throw away.

It also helps that the hotel is located within a pretty vibrant district that’s close to heritage sites and popular tourist spots.

I particularly enjoyed the patio-styled outdoor pool and modern gym during my last visit here.

Because Village Hotel is quite popular among families, there are themed rooms for children available for rent. Most of the rooms are child-safe, but I did notice that the amenities are outdated.

The bathroom in my booked room, for example, looked a bit old-fashioned. Everything was functional, but I would’ve preferred more modern appliances.

Pets are also prohibited within the premises. It’s quite sad that furry friends, even if they’re trained, can’t stay inside (which I think is a policy that hotels should be open to changing moving forward).

Pros

  • Lots of points of interest nearby
  • Perfect for families

Cons

  • Some amenities could be updated
  • No pets allowed

“Great hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. Great pricing at $200 per night including breakfast. The room was clean and roomy complete with a smart TV. They also have a gym and restaurant on site. Close to lots of street food vendors and only minutes from the airport this is a great place to stay when visiting Singapore. Highly recommended!”—Stephen Turner, Google Reviews

Co-living apartments like those featured at Hei Homes are great for tenants seeking flexible contracts for a short-term apartment rental in Singapore.

There are a bunch of spacious and clean listings on the platform, and when I heard rave reviews from frequent travellers about the place, I decided to check out some of the listings myself.

It took me about a week to secure a tour around one of the listings available at Hei Homes, but the representative I spoke to was very accommodating and friendly.

Her patience and hospitality (despite the slow response rate) spoke volumes about how important it is to Hei Homes to foster a tight-knit community of co-living enthusiasts.

The representative showed me the Japandi-themed unit located at River Valley. It had four bedrooms in total, which is to be shared between four flatmates.

The unit was tastefully decorated and very well-maintained. All the furniture was modern, clean, and comfortable (which is definitely a huge plus!).

Aside from the visually-pleasing aesthetics, the rooms were spacious and had big windows that made the space very airy.

I could see myself living here for a while, and apparently, I wasn’t the only one who thought the same (some past tenants extended their booking for over a year!).

Hei Homes allows tenants to extend their bookings due to its flexible contract policy. It’s highly convenient, and I definitely recommend this place for short-term rentals.

If you’re not aware of what co-living entails, you’ll basically share a fully-furnished flat with other tenants. This means you’ll be sharing a living room, kitchen, and oftentimes a bathroom during your stay.

If you’re not into that, then Hei Homes may not be the best option for you. The units are also relatively pricey, so it’s not my top pick for a cheap short-term rental in Singapore.

Pros

  • Spacious and clean units
  • Flexible contract solutions

Cons

  • Shared living room
  • Relatively pricey

Customer Reviews

Comfy and airy rooms

“I can’t thank Hei homes enough for everything they did whilst I was staying in their River Valley apartment. From day 1 they were responsive and accommodating to my needs. They made sure I had all the info I needed and answered all the questions I had. My move in date was a bit up in the air and I needed to change it a few times and Hei Homes were nothing but supportive and helpful. I would recommend everyone to stay with them if you want a long term or short term let, it is a perfect place and very homely. The interiors are super and the layout works great. Thank you Hei Homes for everything.”—Emily Thompson, Google Reviews

Tasteful interiors

“I stayed with Hei Homes for 2 years. I found them to be one of the best options for Co living in Singapore. I highly recommend checking out Orchard Point Serviced Apartments if you’re looking to book a short-term rental within Singapore’s central business district.

There are a lot of metro train stations close by and almost everything you may need is just a stone’s throw away.

I’ve had several travelling friends tell me about their stay at Orchard Point, and most of them raved about the affordable rates and convenience of easily getting around the island.

So, when I visited the place myself, I sought to tour a couple of the best listings available at the time. I checked out the Studio Suite, 2-Bedroom Suite, and 3 Premier Suite.

All of the suites were fully furnished with clean and comfortable furniture. For the Studio, however, I noticed that the kitchen was super tiny.

The other rooms were much larger and had a washer and dryer attached to the kitchen. The appliances were functional but a little outdated.

I guess it would’ve been better if the Studio Suite had better appliances and a bigger kitchen for the price. It’s still quite affordable, but in my opinion, Orchard Point could do better to offer good value for such a tiny space.

I also noticed that the bathrooms needed constant maintenance. I heard from one of my friends that they had trouble getting consistent hot water.

On a more positive note, the rooms were all very clean and decently sized. I can imagine booking a stay here to work (since the rooms had pretty good desks and an environment that’s conducive to productivity).

Overall, Orchard Point Serviced Apartments is a solid spot for a short-term rental in Singapore, especially if you want to stay within Singapore’s city centre.

Pros

  • Located within Orchard
  • Affordable rates

Cons

  • Not all rooms have complete amenities
  • Some bathrooms need constant maintenance

I met a couple of exchange students from universities nearby properties managed by Dash Living, and most of them had great things to say about the units they rented.

Some of them heard about Dash Living from university forums due to its convenient location, excellent safety measures, and affordable rates.

Most of these students booked units for three to six months at a time, and they praised Dash Living for being so accommodating with contract extensions.

I believe the flexible contract policy is a huge advantage. Plus, customer service is apparently very prompt, so if you encounter problems or concerns, the management will address them right away.

The students I met also loved the amenities in their building. Since Dash Living specialises in co-living apartments, the students shared a living room and kitchen.

The amenities included a gym and pool, and the appliances in their unit were quite updated. They did, however, complain about maintenance and housekeeping measures.

Although the units were clean, they had to contact the management about air-conditioning concerns and bathroom repairs.

The students also mentioned that the rates they found on Dash Living’s website didn’t really match the quote a representative gave them when they confirmed their booking.

The difference wasn’t very vast, but it did catch them off guard that the online rates misled them.

Pros

  • Popular among students
  • Prompt customer service

Cons

  • Maintenance and housekeeping could improve
  • Rate consistency and transparency could improve

Tight-knit community

“I have rented a room for 4 months with Dash Living in Singapore. I am an exchange student at NUS and this community really helped me find the best fit for me. Incredible community managers

What I love about Heritage Collection is that you can choose listings based on your preferred cultural district. Each neighbourhood is categorised by the activities and points of interest in the area.

So, whether you’re an artsy person who loves to stroll around colourful streets or you prefer quiet and relaxing riverside views, there’s a Heritage Collection apartment available for you!

It’s one of the reasons why I recommend this place for vacationers who are visiting Singapore for the first time.

The rooms at Heritage Collection are pretty modern, despite its heritage facade. The appliances are up-to-date and fully functional, which is always a huge plus!

It’s also quite family-friendly, so long as your book a unit that can accommodate bigger guest capacities. There aren’t a lot of them, though.

There’s also a lack of in-building amenities such as a gym, which may upset some tenants who like to be active during their stay.

Also, housekeeping schedules aren’t always consistent, so you might have to contact the management about room cleaning whenever you head outside.

On a more positive note, however, there’s complimentary laundry service available for tenants!

Pros

  • Most suitable for vacationers
  • Multiple units across neighbourhoods

Cons

  • No gym
  • Housekeeping schedule needs improvement

LK Residences is another short-term rental spot that offers free parking in the building. If you’re staying for over three months and are renting a car, this feature is a benefit to look out for!

If you prefer to use public transportation to get around, then you’re in luck. LK Residence is conveniently located near the city centre with dozens of stations, bus or train, within walking distance.

When it comes to the rooms, they’re all quite spacious and airy, with large windows that give you lots of natural lighting. The bathrooms are decently sized and clean.

Not all rooms, however, have the same amenities. Smaller units lack kitchens, which could pose problems for tenants staying for long periods.

There are many food and drink spots nearby, though. So, if you’re hungry and need to get a quick lunch or dinner, you can stroll around the area and find a restaurant!

My other drawback about the place is that pets aren’t allowed.

Perhaps other tenants would appreciate this policy, but it would definitely be an advantage for travellers who bring along furry friends with them whenever they travel.

Pros

  • Free parking
  • Convenient location

Cons

  • No pets allowed
  • Not all rooms have kitchens

ST Residences Novena is probably one of the few short-term rental spots that actually allow pets in the units. It’s one of the reasons why I recommend staying here!

Plus, the place is within walking distance from mainstream shopping malls and popular food and beverage spots.

Even if you have a fully-functional kitchen in your chosen unit, it won’t be hard to satisfy your cravings for the best of Singapore’s food culture.

It’s also quite convenient that ST Residences is close to medical centres. Just in case you find yourself in a health emergency, getting the best medical care won’t be hard.

When I came over to tour the rooms, my main observation was that the units were fully-furnished and modestly decorated, but the bathrooms were a bit outdated.

ST Residences Novena
(From ST Residences)

Don’t get me wrong—all the appliances and in-unit amenities were fully functional. The property manager who toured me around the units showed me how to operate all the fixtures and appliances.

There were complete cooking utensils, a washer and dryer unit, and fast Wi-Fi. The building I visited also had a swimming pool, a modern gym, and barbeque pits for social dinners.

However, another point worth noting was the customer service. It took ST Residences almost a week to get back to me about contract terms.

By the time I decided to pursue booking the unit I had chosen, the contract was given to another tenant instead.

I thought it was a miscommunication on behalf of the management, but I guess it was due to the high demand of the unit I chose.

Pros

  • Close to mainstream malls
  • Pet-friendly rooms

Cons

  • Maintenance and housekeeping could improve
  • Customer service needs improvement

Clean and spacious rooms

“We stayed here for a week. Highly recommended for people travelling with young children. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfy. Kitchenette was very useful. Breakfast in the morning was good, a little variety would be nice.”—Mubbhashir Ali, Google Reviews

Cheap laundry service available

“I stayed at this hotel for a month. The room was very spacious, there were cheap laundry services with free blow/dry. The was free water refill/coffee/tea for the whole day I believe. There were free shuttle bus two times a day as well to some of the attractions and the MRT. Most importantly, the staffs were super friendly, helpful, and caring.”—Savinee Khanijou, Google Reviews

If you want to get away from the bustling city life for a couple of months, Wilby Residences may be the spot for you.

It’s a little far from the city centre, which not many people may like, but its not so bad for a short-term rental.

Granted that it wasn’t easy for me to get a taxi in the area after my visit, but the location wasn’t very removed from city life.

There were still a lot of places to shop and dine in the area, but if you’re looking for a quiet retreat, this is a place I’d recommend.

The rooms here were very airy and spacious and could probably fit a family of four.

The kitchen was packed with cooking tools and utensils, which I thought was a nice touch if a tenant were to stay here for longer than three months.

There was also a washer and dryer unit and weekly housekeeping that you could hire upon request.

I’ve heard from the current tenants I met during my visit that the housekeepers are understaffed, so delays with cleaning are frequent.

On a more positive note, however, there’s a modern gym, scheduled bus service, and excellent security in the building.

Since Wilby Residences is located quite far from the central city district, you can take advantage of the chauffeur services at an additional cost.

Pros

  • Offers great value for money
  • Spacious rooms for big families

Cons

  • Understaffed
  • Far from city centre

Hardworking staff members

“My family and I spent 6 weeks here in one of the 3 bedroom units. It was a wonderful experience. The staff are amazing, the amenities are first class and the units are spacious and lovely. All in all, a great introduction to Singapore and excellent value for money.”—Doron Hallis, Google Reviews

Lots of greenery

“Place looks really nice . It is a serviced apartment. Low rise and plenty of greenery and unblocked view. I coach tennis there….tennis court is just above average with not so good night light.”—Sushil Chauhan, Google Reviews

CP Residences has pretty neat units that are homey and cosy. The place is quite known among families looking for short-term housing in Singapore, so if you’re travelling with kids, I recommend checking this place out!

It’s quite easy to find accommodation through CP Residence’s website. There are specially-curated rooms and fully-furnished apartment units that only require you to move in.

Plus, the building is linked to a shopping mall, so if you ever need supplies or vacation essentials, whatever you may need is right around the corner.

There’s also unlimited Internet connection, large beds, spacious rooms, and family-friendly facilities.

If there’s anything specific you need, you can simply start a chat with a representative and they will promptly assist you.

You also have the freedom to choose what type of apartment you want, from basic studios to luxury high-rise condos.

When I spoke with some current and former tenants, I learned that some of the units available on the website are quite outdated.

They usually fall within the budget range, so if you can do away with modern fixtures, CP Residences offers good value for money.

I also heard complaints about electricity outages. It doesn’t happen often, though, according to some tenants.

Pros

  • Family-friendly facilities
  • Building is linked to a shopping mall

Cons

  • Complaints about electricity outages
  • Some units are outdated

I decided to include Aurealis Serviced Residences in my list of the best short-term rentals in Singapore due to its high demand among expatriates and travelling business people.

The building is located at Marina Bay, which is both a landmark and hotspot for many business meetings due to its convenient spot within Singapore’s business district.

There are multiple train stations within walking distance, plus a shopping mall linked to the building’s own underground walkway.

Aurealis Serviced Residence
(From Aurealis Serviced Residence Marina Bay Singapore)

You also won’t find any shortage of food here, as Aurealis is surrounded by food courts and restaurants.

I consider this to be an incredible feature because accessibility always makes a hotel or serviced apartment an ideal spot for short-term rental.

The facilities include a massive infinity pool, an outdoor jacuzzi, and a steam room. There’s also a modern gym and fitness centre available for use the whole day.

Aurealis mainly has luxury apartment listings, so it’s not surprising that the average rates here are pricey. The apartment units are all updated and fully furnished with comfy furniture.

There is, however, a minimum contract length of three months in order to secure a room here. Unless you’re planning to stay for a much shorter time, I think Aurealis Serviced Residences is worth the extra cost.

Pros

  • Best for expatriates and travelling business people
  • Luxury apartments

Cons

  • Has a minimum length of stay
  • Expensive

Another great spot for short-term rentals in Singapore is Pan Pacific Serviced Suites. I love that the building is smack in the middle of Orchard Road, so there’s basically almost everything you need within your reach.

I think the best way to take advantage of staying at a central location is to use Singapore’s public transportation to get around. I mean, there’s virtually a bus or train station nearby!

When it comes to amenities, Pan Pacific is quite known for its spa and wellness centre. The whole vibe of the place is luxurious from the moment you enter its lobby (the ambience reflects the cost of staying here, though).

It’s pretty expensive to book a short-term rental here, but I personally think that the comfort level and premium amenities justify the costs.

I was lucky enough to tour some of the most popular room types such as the One Bedroom Executive Suite and the Two Bedroom Executive Suite.

Both suites are tastefully decorated and fixed with modern appliances and furniture. They both looked quite large in photos, so I was a bit disappointed when the actual rooms weren’t that spacious.

You’ll have everything you may need for a short-term rental in a single unit, though. I can imagine myself booking a long staycation here (if the budget allows it!).

Pros

  • Excellent location
  • Luxury amenities and rooms

Cons

  • Some rooms aren’t that spacious
  • Expensive

Well-designed rooms

“My family and I stayed in 2 rooms here for 7 days. We had such a lovely time here- from the attentiveness of the staff to the well designed accommodations. This is most definitely one of the best places I have stayed in, even better than staying at Marina Bay Sands etc. We had airport transfers to and from the hotel which was seamless. The morning breakfast and the staff in the morning made it memorable. The front desk also very responsive for any of our needs. Overall one of the best accommodations I have ever stayed at.”—Trish Sen, Google Reviews

Lloyd’s Inn isn’t super secluded from the city, but it does offer a relaxing atmosphere to guests who prefer peace and quiet. The architecture and interiors of the inn amplify the calming environment.

I came across Lloyd’s Inn online and was immediately impressed by the photos I saw of the rooms and amenities.

The whole place really looked like a retreat away from the city, even if it was located within Singapore’s busiest district.

The hotel is in a residential zone, though, so it’s understandable that the area is relatively quieter than other parts of the city.

When I booked a tour, I noticed right away that parking was pretty limited. Even if you booked a stay here, parking won’t be free, so that’s a bit upsetting.

However, when it came to the rooms and the overall vibe of the place, I personally thought that the photos I saw online didn’t do Lloyd’s Inn much justice.

Or rather, what you see online is also what you get—maybe even better. The rooms and interiors were very clean, relaxing, and visually pleasing.

The amenities were pretty standard, but I can imagine myself taking a few weeks off to just relax in my room or by the pool.

When I asked about the guest capacity per room, I was told that the inn is quite popular among families. The management can arrange for extra beds in case you need more.

While it’s not necessarily a huge problem, I didn’t like the fact that there were limited dining options nearby or within the premises.

You’d have to head out into the city centre to get anything, but if you don’t mind the commute or walk, staying at Lloyd’s Inn shouldn’t be a problem!

Pros

  • Quiet, residential zone
  • Best for families

Cons

  • No free parking
  • No restaurants inside hotel

A quiet escape from the city

“Loved the place, the rooms are spacious, open yet private thanks to the hint of outdoor. The location of Lloyd’s Inn was amazing, smack in the central yet hidden away from the hustle and bustle. Service was good to, housekeeping was quick to attend to our needs when called upon.”—Sidney Chong, Google Reviews

If you’re looking for a short-term housing solution that isn’t far from the city centre but is close to good shops and food spots, then Great World Serviced Apartments is a great option to consider.

I heard about the place a couple of years ago from a friend, and because most of the feedback was good, I decided to check it out myself for this review.

Overall, the hotel’s location is convenient. While it isn’t in the busiest area, the neighbourhood was quiet during the day and vibrant at night.

The management and staff members were all very friendly and polite when I arrived. They quickly talked me through their contract terms and the amenities available for use.

There are workstations for guests who need a quiet yet conducive space to work, a lounge for private meetings, a cafe, a play area for kids, and a modern gym.

There’s even an outdoor jacuzzi, swimming pool, and tennis court for more recreational ideas.

Despite that, Great World Serviced Apartments is still a great option to consider for a short-term rental in Singapore. I highly recommend checking the place out!

  • Great location
  • Known for its customer service

Super friendly staff members

“We had a great customer service experience with the team at Great World Serviced Apartments.

Liz was our primary contact when we went to view one of the 3 bedroom apartments (on both the 1st and 2nd Mar ’23). She was warm, hospitable, and very professional. Everyone we spoke to (the security guard, the front desk) were very friendly too.”—Don Wijeratne, Google Reviews

Luxury living

“In spite of being a 4-star hotel, the team provides far more than a 5-star level of service! There is so much to thank the team with, right from the booking with Ronald and knowing what I want he went the extra mile to take a video of the unit for me. What I liked the most about Hotel G was that the rooms had so much personality and character. The hotel is located within a very vibrant district, so it’s only right that the hotel’s interiors reflect the colourful charm of the community there.

As a spot for short-term rental housing, I can say that if you’re okay with living in small rooms for long periods of time, Hotel G would be perfect for you.

The rooms aren’t very spacious, but the furniture, ambience, and amenities are pretty much excellent.

There are dozens of dining spots within walking distance from the hotel, so I personally didn’t find any problem with staying here for a staycation.

Aside from the small rooms, I did notice that the walls were pretty thin. When I toured the suites with a manager, I could hear other guests walking around the halls or getting into their rooms.

I even heard someone’s television playing from the other side, but it wasn’t very distracting anyway.

The room I visited had a large bed, complimentary drinks, and ultra-fast Wi-Fi. Honestly, it’s not so bad (plus, if you’re staying here solo or with a friend, the space won’t seem small—even cosy rather!).

I don’t think families would get the best value for money due to the small room sizes, but the sizes are understandable because the rates here are relatively affordable, to begin with.

Pros

  • Great location
  • Lots of dining spots within walking distance

Cons

  • Small rooms
  • Thin walls

Expat Corporate Apartments is probably my top recommendation for expatriates or travelling business people. The management can source a serviced apartment for you within short notice, and they’re usually located close to the city centre.

The building I visited was located between MRT and bus stations, so it wasn’t hard to find it. From there, a representative quickly made introductions about the place I was visiting.

The contract flexibility of Expat Corporate Apartments is quite impressive, but tenants are allowed to stay for a minimum of three months.

If you’re thinking about booking a unit here for any duration shorter than that, this may not be the place for you.

On top of that, I give the management a thumbs up for hospitality and promptness. They were quick to respond to my queries online and in person.

When it came to the actual units, I quickly noticed that some of the amenities were outdated. They were all functional, but others, like the shower and air conditioning, needed a few upgrades.

For example, the shower had a leak and when I tested the pressure, it wasn’t super strong.

The air conditioning unit also emitted loud noises, which, perhaps for some people, won’t be an issue, but I can imagine how distracting it would be.

Despite that, the units were spacious and quite conducive to productivity due to the large windows and comfortable seating.

The amenities in the building I visited had a pool and modern gym, so that’s a huge plus!

Pros

  • Great location
  • Excellent customer service

Cons

  • Three months minimum stay
  • Some maintenance issues

Customer Reviews

As for maintenance, the few times I did need it, the company was very diligent and dispatched their technicians without the slightest delay.
