The 16 Best Instagrammable Restaurants in Singapore Sure to Garner Likes

Like most foodies, I come to restaurants expecting good food first and foremost. But sometimes, I do love visiting restaurants that look so good in photos. How can I resist the temptation of having a mini-photoshoot before eating my food?

Luckily for me, many of the amazing restaurants in Singapore look gorgeous. My favourite ones are the restaurants with a floral and nature theme, but I’ve come to appreciate the simple, minimalist restaurants as well.

If you also love eating and taking photos, be sure to visit these gorgeous restaurants!

Wildseed Cafe at the Alkaff Mansion

– From: karen_santiago

Address: 10 Telok Blangah Green, The Alkaff Mansion

  • Monday—8 am to 5 pm
  • Tuesday to Thursday, Sunday—8 am to 9 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—8 am to 11 pm

Website

The first time I stopped by Wildseed Cafe, my jaw dropped. I shouldn’t be surprised because it’s located within the premises of an actual mansion, but I was still stunned. This floral-themed cafe looks like it’s a garden made for fairies!

I usually come here for high tea so I can pretend I’m in a historical romance novel. I indulge myself in all the sweet treats, namely strawberry cream puffs, black forest tarts, and chestnut tea cakes. I love that these desserts aren’t too sweet, so I can devour them without any problem.

Pro Tip

  • This restaurant has a special promo for Valentine’s Day. Come here for a memorable date with your loved one!

Le Jardin

– From: lejardinsingapore

Address: 5 Cox Terrace, Level 2 Fort Canning Arts Centre

Operating Hours:

  • Monday and Tuesday—9:30 am to 6 pm
  • Wednesday to Sunday—9:30 am to 9 pm

Contact Number: +6588709977

Website

Speaking of restaurants that look like gardens owned by fairies, Le Jardin is another one I recommend. Aside from its floral and nature theme, this dining spot also exudes an old-school charm, thanks to all its vintage decor.

Brunch is the best time to come here. I love ordering the Big Breakfast because it’s super hearty. The scrambled eggs have bits of truffle in them, so they taste earthy and rich, and the dish also includes sausages, a piece of bacon, tomatoes, and a mixed salad.

Pro Tip

  • You can host a special event here—from corporate gatherings to elaborate weddings. If you’re interested, fill out this form.

Knots Cafe and Living

– From: knots_cafe_and_living

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday—9 am to 9 pm
  • Friday—9 am to 10 pm
  • Saturday—8:30 am to 10 pm
  • Sunday—8:30 am to 9 pm

Contact Number: +6568170383

Website

At Knots Cafe and Living, you’ll feel like you’re dining somewhere tropical. This restaurant has many potted plants all over the place, and there are also plants hanging from the walls. The sight of all that green brings a smile to my face.

Treat yourself to their grilled rosemary lamb chops. These lamb chops have a lovely charred flavour, and the meat is super tender and juicy. Dip it into the gravy it’s served with, and you’ll have an explosion of savoury flavours on your tongue.

Pro Tip:

  • Keep in mind that during peak hours (11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm), you might have a limited allocated time for dining (90 minutes).
  • If you purchase any of the cakes or pastries, you can enjoy 20% off your coffee or tea.

Coexist Coffee Co.

– From: coexistcoffee.co

Address: 11 Eunos Rd 8, #01-02 Lifelong Learning Institute

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—8:30 am to 5:30 pm

Website

Coexist Coffee features dark and muted colours, so in a way, its interior gives off industrial vibes. I really like the look; I find it cosy and relaxing.

I usually order the Risk Taker coffee because I love how rich and strong it is.

For food, I get the laksa fish and chips. I’m obsessed with how the halibut absorbs the creamy and spicy laksa sauce. The fries are also perfectly salty, and I love dipping them into the sauce as well for more flavour.

Pro Tip

  • You can host an event in this restaurant. Or if you already have a venue, you can book their coffee cart service instead. If you’re interested, be sure to fill out this form.

Apartment Coffee

– From: apartmentcoffee

Address: 139 Selegie Rd, #01-01

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10 am to 6 pm

Website

Another great place to get coffee in Singapore is Apartment Coffee. The interior of this coffee shop is white colours with light-colour accents, and it also has large windows to let in a lot of sunlight. Despite its simplicity, this place is a sight to behold.

I like that this place has different coffee flavours. My favourite is the Ethiopia Gagari Gutity, which has flavours of mango and grape Yakult. This flavour combination seems strange for a coffee, but to my surprise, it works well!

Pro Tip

Muted

– From: muted.sg

Address: 221 Lavender St.

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—12 pm to 12 am

Contact Number: +6580923630

Website

Muted really sticks to its name: its interior is minimalistic, with clean and sleek lines and, well, muted colours. I love the salmon pink of the walls and the round arches. The look is just super modern!

This is an ice cream shop, and the variety of flavours is astounding. My favourite is the Hokkaido Cookies, which have a sweet, milky taste and strong vanilla smell.

Pro Tip:

  • If you’re ordering online, you can enjoy free delivery once your total exceeds S$50.

Cafe Monochrome

– From: cafemonochromesg

Address: Along Smith Street Side, 25 Trengganu St, #01-12 Chinatown Point

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10 am to 9 pm

Contact Number: +6583325195

Website

Cafe Monochrome has to be one of the most unique cafes I’ve ever visited. As the name suggests, this cafe has a monochromatic colour scheme of black and white. As a result, the interior looks like an optical illusion that makes you think you’re in a 2D animated movie!

Moreover, I’m a big fan of their pasta dishes. My ultimate favourite is the Smoked Duck Pasta, which has a creamy sauce and earthy champignon pate. It’s topped with a few pieces of smoked duck, which taste savoury and smoky.

Pro Tip

  • You can rent this restaurant for a special event. I recommend booking the event on a weekday because the fee is cheaper.

Tajine

– From: tajine.sg

Address: 18 Mohamed Sultan Rd

Operating Hours:

  • Tuesday to Friday—12 pm to 3 pm, 5 pm to 11 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday—11:30 am to 3 pm, 5 pm to 11 pm

Contact Number: +6566907566

Website

Inspired by Moroccan culture, Tajine boasts bold colours and golden highlights. The plates and glasses used here also look pretty, so you can expect a colourful dining experience here.

The flavours of the dishes served in this African restaurant are just as bold as the interior design. Order any of the tajine dishes (named after the cone-shaped clay pot they’re cooked in).

My favourite is the veal shank. It’s slow-cooked with bone marrow, saffron, prunes, and apricots, so the result is a combination of sweet, fruity, and savoury flavours. It also has a hint of nuttiness because of the almonds and the sesame seeds.

Pro Tip

The Great Mischief

– From: thegreatmischief

Address: 1 St Andrew’s Rd, #01-17 National Gallery Singapore

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10 am to 9:30 pm

Contact Number: +6587213150

Website

Located inside the National Gallery, The Great Mischief looks like it’s taken straight out of a Wes Anderson film. Pastel colours and gold accents dominate the interior. For furniture, there are scallop chairs and terrazzo tables. What a cute look!

Here, I always order El Pollo, which is essentially their main chicken dish. The chicken is rubbed with all sorts of spices, grilled, and then served with mushroom ragu. The flavour profile is complex. Savoury is prominent, but there are hints of earthy, smoky, and spicy flavours as well.

Pro Tip

  • If you’re planning to come here for afternoon tea, I recommend booking your spot ahead of time.

Odette

– From: odetterestaurant

Address: 1 St Andrew’s Rd, #01-04 National Gallery

Operating Hours:

  • Monday—6:30 pm to 8 pm
  • Tuesday to Saturday—12 pm to 1:15 pm, 6:30 pm to 8 pm

Contact Number: +6563850498

Website

The National Gallery has another restaurant inside, and it’s just as beautiful. Odette is a French restaurant with a modern minimalist look and a splash of nature theme thrown in. It’s simple yet elegant!

Aside from looking beautiful, this restaurant has three Michelin stars, so you can expect to find some of the best food here.

The menu here is prix fixe, and it changes often. The last time I came here, the standout dish was the Aveyron lamb saddle served with heirloom carrots, couscous, and jus tranche. The meat was succulent, and the jus was just savoury perfection.

Pro Tip

  • Since this is such a highly regarded restaurant, you need to book a reservation ahead of time. I recommend booking at least a month before your preferred date.

Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari

– From: tiongbahrunakery

Address: 130E Minden Rd, Open Farm Community

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—8 am to 6 pm

Contact Number: +6568774876

Website

Tucked away in the Dempsey neighbourhood, Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari makes you feel like you’re dining in a jungle with all the wooden furniture and dark colours. It’s also located outdoors, so no air conditioning. Definitely feels like you’re on a safari!

This bakery and patisserie has all my favourite French treats. My go-to order is the chocolate kouign amann, which is simply fluffy like a cloud. It also has a decent amount of chocolate filling, and that makes my chocolate-loving heart soar.

Pro Tip:

East Coast Commune

– From: eccommune

Address: 1000 ECP, #01-03 Marine Cove

Operating Hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday to Friday—8 am to 5:30 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday—8 am to 9 pm

Contact Number: +6589504142

Website

Located in Marine Cove, East Coast Commune is my dream café. With its pastel blues and potted plants, this place is oozing with peace and comfort. The paintings of marine animals on the wall are also so pretty!

I always order the steak and mash here because it’s just so filling and delicious. The steak cut is rump cap, so it’s thick and juicy, and it’s paired with a green peppercorn mushroom jus that’s super savoury and rich. The mash has a nice sweetness to it, thanks to the caramelised onions.

Pro Tips

  • You can order a picnic box here. It’s perfect for hanging out with loved ones in the park or on the beach.
  • If you want to host an event here, you need to fill out this form.

PS. Cafe at Marina Bay Sands

– From: pscafe

Operating Hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday—10:30 am to 10 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—10:30 am to 11 pm

Contact Number: +6567089288

Website

PS. Cafe is a beloved brunch spot, and though I love all its outlets, I have to say that the one in Marina Bay Sands is my favourite. It’s just super chic and stylish; I feel like I’m dining in a Parisian restaurant every time.

I can’t get enough of the chicken rossa penne here. The cream sauce is perfectly garlicky and tangy, with a hint of acidity from the tomatoes. The dish is also topped with chicken, smoked bacon, and roasted mushrooms, which add a savoury-earthy oomph to every forkful.

Pro Tip

Merci Marcel

– From: deeniseglitz

Address: 56 Eng Hoon St, #01-68 Block 56 HDB Eng Hoon

Operating Hours:

  • Sunday to Wednesday—8 am to 11 pm
  • Thursday to Saturday—8 am to 12 am

Contact Number: +6562240113

Website

Merci Marcel is another restaurant that’s oozing with French aesthetics. But it also has a bit of Bali inspiration thrown in, with all the tropical decorations, the citrus-toned palette, mustard tile flooring, and greenery.

I usually come here for dinner with a loved one, and my go-to order is the Angus beef ribeye. It’s massive, weighing about 300 grams, so it’s enough to feed two people. It’s also served with creamy mushrooms and leeks, which bring an earthy-sweet contrast to the steak’s rich savoury flavours.

Pro Tip

Kafe Utu

– From: kafeutu

Address: 12 Jiak Chuan Rd

Operating Hours:

  • Tuesday to Thursday—10 am to 4:30 pm, 6 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday—9 am to 4:30 pm, 6 pm to 9:30 pm

Contact Number: +6569963937

Website

Kafe Utu is a restaurant like no other. Proudly African, this restaurant boasts rich, earthy tones with a pop of colour here and there. There are also paintings of different African tribes and embroidered pieces. My mouth is always agape whenever I’m here.

My go-to recommendation here is Doro Wat, which is Ethiopian chicken curry. It’s super aromatic, so I’m already drooling even before I get a bite. It tastes smoky, buttery, and earthy, with a kick of heat almost like an aftertaste.

Pro Tip

The Coastal Settlement

– From: thecoastalsettlement

Address: 200 Netheravon Rd

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Friday—10:30 am to 11 pm
  • Saturday—8:30 am to 11 pm
  • Sunday—8:30 am to 10 pm

Website

When you step inside The Coastal Settlement, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time. The interior is decorated with vintage memorabilia, such as old-school vehicles, nostalgic gadgets, antique furniture, and rare paintings.

The menu here is filled with classic comfort dishes. The grilled lamb rack is a must-try. The meat falls off the bone and is bursting with salty-savory goodness. It also comes with a mint yoghurt dressing, which adds a tangy note to every forkful.

Pro Tips

  • Feeling like going on a picnic? Order a picnic basket here. The basket comes with bread, cheese, and drinks, and the package also has a foldable table, a mat, and two chairs.
  • If you want to host an event here, fill out this form.
