The Best Late-Night Dessert Shops in Singapore That Sweeten My Sour Nights

I’m not normally a night owl, but sometimes, I do find myself awake late at night, mostly because of stress (from work or just a random existential crisis). When that happens, I know what exactly calms me down: an indulgent sweet dessert.

Creamy ice cream with lots of toppings (chocolate and sprinkles) is my go-to, but I also love eating a dense, moist cake with frosting so sugary it will most likely give me cavities.

These treats always make me forget any worries, and these are the places in Singapore I love going to for these late-night sweet treats!

Lickers

– From: lickersg

Address: 124 Hougang Ave 1, #01-1446 Block 124 HDB Hougang

Operating Hours

  • Tuesday to Thursday—1 pm to 2 am
  • Friday to Sunday—12 pm to 2 am

Website

Lickers is probably my most visited spot on this list, so it makes sense that it’s my first recommendation. This place is especially perfect for fellow ice cream enthusiasts because you can find the most delectable ice cream here.

My favorite flavor is the Blueberry Crumble. It’s sweet and tangy, and I love the crushed cookie pieces because they add a nice texture.

The oolong lavender ice cream is also great. It’s mellow, so I can devour several scoops without ever getting sick of it.

Pro Tips:

  • There’s a special flavor named rum and raisin that’s only available from Friday to Sunday.
  • If you want to make a bulk order or buy an ice cream pint for a birthday or another special occasion, send an inquiry by filling out this form.

2 am: Dessertbar

– From: 2amdessertbar

Address: 21A Lor Liput

Operating Hours: Tuesday to Sunday—6 pm to 2 am

Contact Number: +6562919727

Website

2 am: Dessertbar is not your typical dessert shop. Instead of bright lights and pastel colors, this place has dark accents and ambient lighting, creating a cozy atmosphere that I like.

Chocolate H20 has to be my favorite. It’s made with Kochi yuzu sorbet with chocolate soil and salted caramel. This dessert isn’t overly sweet, but it’s rich since it has dark chocolate. Plus, there are also notes of earthy and citrusy flavors, almost like an aftertaste, and I quite like that.

Pro Tips:

  • If you do order Chocolate H20, you might want to pair it with a glass of Coppi Siniscalco Primitivo, a wine from Italy. Full-bodied and velvety, it complements the dessert well.
  • You can host a private event here, such as talks, workshops, or intimate dinners.

Janice Wong

– From: janicewongsg

Address: 290 Orchard Rd, #B1 – k28 Paragon Shopping Center

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—10 am to 9 pm
  • Friday to Sunday—10 am to 10 pm

Website

Located in one of the most popular shopping malls on Orchard Road, Janice Wong is a paradise for chocolate lovers. This candy store offers a wide variety of chocolate products—from chocolate bars with innovative flavors and artisanal bonbons.

I really like the Almond Milk Chocolate Bar. It’s made with cocoa beans from Davao Del Sur, Philippines, so the result is a rich chocolate with mellow sweetness. It’s also vegan, which I’m sure vegan chocolate enthusiasts would appreciate.

Pro Tip:

  • This shop actually offers chocolate workshops that teach you how to make chocolate bars from scratch!

Wan Wan Thai Cafe

– From: wanwan.thaicafe

Address: 127A Bencoolen St, #02-127 lyf Bugis

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—12:30 pm to 3 am

Contact Number: +6563368812

Facebook

Wan Wan Thai Cafe is basically a hidden gem because it’s located above another restaurant and doesn’t have an arresting storefront. But inside, you’ll find a cozy setting with a menu full of different bingsu flavors and other sweet treats.

The Oreo Bingsu immediately became my ultimate favorite. All it took was one taste! The shaved ice is topped generously with lots of Oreo crumbs, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, even more Oreo cookies, and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

This is the kind of treat that will definitely spike up my blood sugar, but for once, I don’t care (I’m so sorry to my doctor).

Pro Tip:

  • The desserts here tend to be really sweet, and they’re also served in surprisingly large portions. I recommend bringing someone to share the treat with you to avoid it going to waste.

Hay Gelato

– From: haygelato

Address: 136 Bedok North Ave 3, #01-148

Operating Hours

  • Monday—5 pm to 1 am
  • Tuesday to Thursday—1 pm to 1 am
  • Friday—1 pm to 2 am
  • Saturday—12 pm to 2 am
  • Sunday—12 pm to 1 am

Contact Number: +6596634254

Hay Gelato is another one of my favorite ice cream shops, and I’m happy that it now has two locations: one in Bedok (my go-to) and another in Katong-Joo Chiat.

What I like about this shop is that there are some unique flavors that will definitely make you raise your eyebrow in surprise. For example, there’s an ice cream flavor named Smoked Hay!

This flavor actually tastes lovely; it’s creamy with a noticeable smoky undertone. It has bits of cocoa nibs as toppings, perhaps to mimic the crunchy texture of hay. This ice cream is great on its own, but I recommend pairing it with a waffle.

Pro Tip:

  • If you don’t know which flavor to pick, you can ask for a taste sample of all flavors and choose the one you like the most.

Momolato

– From: momolatosg

Address: 34 Haji Ln

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—2 pm to 11 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—11 am to 1 am

Contact Number: +6588837968

Website

Located on Haji Lane, near Arab Street, Momolato is a must-visit for ice cream lovers. The best part is that this gelateria is also halal-certified, so our fellow Muslim ice cream enthusiasts can enjoy delicious scoops here.

I recommend the Himalayan osmanthus mango passionfruit ice cream. It’s sweet and refreshing, making it a perfect treat for summer. I also really like the Milo Dinosaur with Marshmallows because it brings me back to my childhood when I was obsessed with all things Milo.

Pro Tip:

  • You can order custom ice creams or an ice cream live station for a special event like a birthday or wedding!

Ah Chew Desserts

– From: danielfooddiary

  • Friday—12:30 pm to 1 am
  • Saturday—1:30 pm to 1 am
  • Sunday—1:30 pm to 12 am

Contact Number: +6563398198

Website

If you prefer local desserts, then Ah Chew Desserts should be on your itinerary. This spot offers a wide variety of Singaporean classics that will make you feel like a kid again.

I recommend the milk-steamed egg pudding with red bean. It’s like a Chinese version of a creme brûlée, minus the crunchy sugar top. Still, it’s a delightful treat; the custard is thick and velvety, and the red beans add a nice mellow sweetness.

Pro Tip:

  • This spot tends to have long queues, so expect that coming here. Don’t worry, though, because the line moves pretty fast.

Hundred Acre Creamery

– From: hundredacre.sg

Address: 109 Clementi Street 11, #01-37

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—12 pm to 11 pm

Contact Number: +6591171594

Website

Inspired by the wholesome tale of Winnie the Pooh, Hundred Acre Creamery is a charming gelateria that makes you feel like you’re taking a break in a fantasy land.

I love getting ice cream and waffles here. The waffles are coconut pandan-flavored, so they smell so good and taste delicate. As for the texture, it’s chewy, almost like a mochi.

No matter which ice cream flavor I choose (and I truly cycle through the different options available), it always tastes great with the waffles.

Pro Tip:

  • You can have a Hundred Acre Creamery station at your special event!

Tian Wang

– From: tianwang.sg

Address: 50 Keong Saik Rd.

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Friday—5 pm to 2 am
  • Saturday—3 pm to 2 am
  • Sunday—3 pm to 1 am

Contact Number: +6596801628

Located in Chinatown, Tian Wong captured my attention for the first time for its unique interior design; it’s themed around mahjong! Then, I tried the desserts—and now, I’m always finding reasons to come back here.

My favorite is the mango pomelo sago. At first glance, it seems like a simple treat, but it’s so sweet and refreshing, and I love popping the sago balls. It’s definitely a great snack to eat when it’s hot out.

Pro Tip:

  • I recommend coming here via public transportation because parking is quite limited. If you do insist on driving, there’s free parking along the roadside, but only after 10 pm.

After Hours

– From: afterhoursgelato

Address: 27 W Coast Hwy, #01-07 ORTO

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—4 pm to 2 am
  • Friday to Sunday—1 pm to 2 am

Contact Number: +6588024092

After Hours is an underrated spot that deserves more hype. This dessert place is best known for its churros mochi waffles, and I recommend you get them too.

As you can guess from the name, these waffles look and feel like churros on the outside, but when you bite into them, they’re soft and chewy like mochi. They taste so addictively good on their own, but they taste even better with ice cream.

The flavor selection here is insane; there are so many unique options. The best one I’ve tried is the Milky Honeycomb. I love how sweet and creamy it is!

Pro Tip:

  • I recommend bringing your own water because the bottled water sold here is pricey.

Icebar

– From: icebar.sg

Address: 21 Hougang St 51, #02-14 Hougang Green Shopping Mall

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Friday—6 pm to 2 am
  • Saturday and Sunday—2 pm to 2 am

Contact Number: +6582223446

Website

Icebar opened for business in 2020, during the peak of the COVID lockdown, so it’s impressive that it’s still open to this day. In fact, this dessert has gotten popular enough that it now has two locations in Singapore.

What I like about this shop is that the ice cream flavors are inspired by classic Singaporean treats. My favorite so far is kopi peng because it really tastes like the kopi I drink every day. If you don’t like coffee, you might want to try the matcha latte ice cream instead. It’s mellow and somewhat earthy.

Pro Tip:

  • If you order waffles, toppings, and a beverage with your gelato, you can score a discount of 20% off the total cost.

Wonders

– From: breadinosaur

Address: 128 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #01-1867 Block 128 HDB Ang Mo Kio

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Thursday—12 pm to 11 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—12 pm to 12 am

Website

If you ever find yourself in Ang Mo Kio, I recommend you stop by Wonders. This spot is quiet and cozy, so you’re free to meditate about your life and the problems of the world like I love to do late at night.

The assortment of flavors tends to change often, but I still love whatever ones are available during my visit. I recommend the roasted pistachio ice cream, which has a lovely nutty and smoky flavor to it, and the strawberry cheesecake, which is creamy, sweet, and tangy.

Pro Tip:

  • If you spend at least S$10, you’ll be able to receive a loyalty card. The next time you visit, the staff will stamp your card, and you’ll get a reward once you’ve collected enough stamps.

Cold Flings

– From: coldflings

Address: 21 Fernvale Road, #01-05 High Park Residences

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—6 pm to 1 am
  • Friday—6 pm to 2 am
  • Saturday and Sunday—12 pm to 12 am

Contact Number: +6588864095

Cold Flings is located inside a condo building, making it hard to find for casual visitors. Still, it’s worth the extra effort to find this place and treat yourself to a delicious snack.

I usually get the Green Apple Yakult ice cream because I find it very refreshing, and the sour-sweet combo hits the spot for me.

If you prefer a healthier treat, you should get any of the acai bowls. These bowls are jam-packed with fruits and, of course, acai berries. Sweet and nutritious—yes, please!

Pro Tip:

  • I recommend taking the outside seat. Late at night, the environment outside is serene, which makes you feel at ease too.

Good Bites

– From: goodbitessg

Address: 5 Bishan St 14, #03-01 Bishan ActiveSG Sports Hall

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 5 am

Contact Number: +6569700233

Website

Most people know Good Bites as a restaurant that serves delicious Western food, but for me, it’s also a wonderful dessert spot.

Croffles—basically a combination of a croissant and a waffle—are the bestsellers here. I always get the Speculoos Croffle because it’s just so decadent, and I also like the crunchy Biscoff pieces thrown into the mix.

Aside from croffles, you might like the lava cake. The chocolate just bursts from the center, and when you pair it with a cold ice cream, it tastes like heaven!

Pro Tip:

FlagWhite

– From: flagwhitesg

Address: 106 Jln Jurong Kechil

Operating Hours:

  • Monday—10 am to 9:30 pm
  • Wednesday to Friday—10 am to 11 pm

Website

FlagWhite is simply oozing with chill vibes, so when you come here, you’ll immediately feel calm and at home. You can even bring your pets here, which is a bonus for me because I do love hanging out with my dog.

For dessert, this spot offers cheesecakes with local flavors infused in them. I’m quite fond of the Seashore Mousse Earl Grey Cheesecake. Not only is it pretty to look at (I can’t say no to pastel blue), but it’s also satisfying—velvety in texture and mellow in taste.

Pro Tip:

  • If you order coffee, you can get a loyalty card that tracks your orders with stamps. Once you have enough stamps, you can earn a free cup of coffee.

Creme by Lele Bakery

– From: creme_sg

Address: 124 Hougang Ave 1, #01-1444

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—1 pm to 1 am
  • Friday to Sunday—12 pm to 2 am

Contact Number: +6583189001

Website

For people who love cakes and other sorts of pastries, Creme by Lele Bakery is a must-visit.

My go-to order here is the lychee rose cake, which is fruity and delicately sweet. The chocolate tart is also a great one. I love how crunchy the base is and the chocolate filling is silky smooth and rich.

If you love ice cream, try the chrysanthemum flavor. It tastes herbal, like you’re eating tea in ice cream form, and it also comes with cacao nibs for extra texture.

Pro Tip:
