Where to Get the Best Food in Raffles Place, According to a Local Foodie

Located in the central area, Raffles Place is best known as the heart of Singapore’s business and financial district. That’s why you can spot countless iconic buildings and skyscrapers when exploring this place.

But did you know that Raffles Place is also a haven for foodies? There’s an impressive variety of restaurants here—from casual sandwich shops to fancy steakhouses

I’ve already tried several dining spots here. There are still many restaurants I want to try, but so far, here are my favorite places!

Vibe Bistro

Address: 1 Raffles Pl, #01-03/04/05/06

Operating Hours

  • Monday and Tuesday—11:30 am to 10 pm
  • Wednesday to Friday—11:30 am to 11 pm
  • Saturday—12 to 9 pm

Contact Number: +6598358897

Website

To no one’s surprise, Vibe Bistro delivers nothing but good vibes: the modern interior design and bright colors will undoubtedly put a smile on your face. But more than that, this bistro also offers an array of delicious modern Singaporean dishes!

I love the Singapore crab tagliatelle dish here. The al dente tagliatelle noodles soak in the chili crab sauce perfectly, and the whole dish is topped with the sweet meat of soft shell crab. It’s no wonder this is a bestseller here!

For your drinks, you’ll be delighted to know that there’s a great variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I usually go for any of the homemade drinks (my favorite is the strawberry lime soda), but sometimes, I splurge on a fancy wine.

Pro Tips:

  • This bistro often holds special promotions that are only available during lunchtime (e.g., discounts and limited combo meals). Take advantage of these promotions when you can.

The Providore

Address: 7 Raffles Pl

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Saturday—8 am to 10:30 pm
  • Sunday—9 am to 6 pm

Contact Number: +6562217056

Website

What I like about The Providore is that it’s an all-in-one destination. It has a deli, bakery, and grocery, and of course, it has its own cafe where you can treat yourself to a delicious meal.

I like coming here during breakfast, and my go-to order is the English-style breakfast. This dish is jam-packed with so many things: eggs, sautéed mushrooms, grilled bacon, sausage, and more. So, I always feel full after eating!

Because I have a sweet tooth, of course, I order dessert whenever I’m here! I recommend getting the affogato (double espresso with vanilla ice cream). This cafe’s version has cocoa nibs that add a richer flavor to the whole treat.

Pro Tips:

Gin Khao

Address: 1 Raffles Pl, #04-29/30

Operating Hours: Monday to Friday—11:30 am to 3 pm, 5:30 to 9 pm

Contact Number: +6565322387

Website

Craving Thai cuisine? Then you need to check out Gin Khao!

This Thai restaurant boasts a simple interior with a laid-back atmosphere, making it a great spot if I just want to hang out with my friends. The menu also boasts an impressive array of Thai dishes with modern twists.

I recommend the Gai Phat Gratiem, a chicken dish with an addictive pepper and garlicky sauce. I also love the stir-fried squid with runny salted egg. The sauce for this dish is perfectly creamy and balances the salty-savory flavors.

Your meal won’t be complete without rice! Try the Khao Phat Dtaeng Moe. It’s watermelon fried rice served in a watermelon bowl! I know it sounds weird, but it somehow works (it tastes slightly sweet), so don’t knock it till you’ve tasted it!

Pro Tip:

  • Sometimes, this restaurant has some promotions that are only available for a limited time. Check this page to see what promotions are currently active.

Whiskdom Cookies and Brownies

Address: One Raffles Pl, B1-06, Singapore 048616

Operating Hours: Monday to Friday—9 am to 8 pm

Website

For people who love sugary treats, Whiskdom Cookies and Brownies is sure to satisfy your cravings! This independent bakery is relatively small, but the array of desserts is pretty extensive.

I like to treat myself to their cookies, and my favorite flavors are the Dark Chocolate Overloaded (it really is sweetness overload) and the Crème Brûlée (it has a gooey custard filling that’s so addictive).

I’m also a big fan of the brownies here. The Speculoos Delight Brownie combines the richness of chocolate and the caramelized, gingerbread-like flavors of Speculoos biscuits, so every bite is incredibly indulgent.

Pro Tip:

  • If you like the desserts sold here, you might want to join the Whiskdom Circle, the bakery’s very own membership program that lets you enjoy cool perks.

Sol and Luna

Address: 88 Market St, #17-01 CapitaSpring

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—7 am to 11 pm

Contact Number: +6580314316

Website

Named after the Spanish words for sun and moon, Sol and Luna boasts floor-to-ceiling glass walls so that natural lighting brightens up the space. Because of this, you’ll feel like you’re dining in a garden oasis instead of a restaurant!

In my opinion, brunch is the best time to come here because that’s when the relaxing vibes are the strongest. I like getting the Italian-style shakshuka (eggs cooked in tomato sauce) because it’s so flavorful (savory, tangy, and garlicky)!

If you’re into cocktails, I recommend trying the Garden Impressions. It’s sweet and tangy, thanks to the passionfruit syrup and lime juice. You almost can’t taste the gin!

Pro Tip:

  • Because of the restaurant’s garden theme, it’s a great venue for weddings! You can also book this space for corporate events.

Salmon Samurai

Address: 10 Collyer Quay B1-08 Ocean Financial Centre

Operating Hours: Monday to Friday—11 am to 8 pm

Contact Number: +6566348593

Website

Salmon Samurai is the perfect restaurant for people who love all things sushi! What I like about this place is that they use fresh Norwegian salmon, and the fish is always fileted right at the restaurant.

I like getting a salmon poké bowl with mixed greens because it’s the most filling and nourishing, in my opinion. The salmon chunks also taste delicious. They’re soft and buttery, with a slight umami because of the soy dressing.

If you like sushi rolls, I recommend getting the salmon belly avocado maki. This roll tastes buttery, savory, and a bit sweet (from the crab stick), and I can’t get enough of it every time!

Pro Tip:

  • If you’re interested, Salmon Samurai is more than happy to offer their catering services for your corporate events.

L’Entrecote Customs House

Address: 70 Collyer Quay, #01-01 Customs House

Operating Hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday—12 to 3 pm, 5 to 10 pm
  • Friday—12 to 3 pm, 5:30 to 11 pm
  • Saturday—5:30 to 11 pm

Contact Number: +6566907565

Website

There aren’t that many French restaurants in Singapore, so if you come across L’Entrecote Customs House in Raffles Place, be sure to try it out.

I like to start my meal with oysters. They’re always fresh, so they taste just the way I like (sweet with a hint of brininess). Sometimes, I go for the oven-baked camembert. It’s so fun dipping the steamed potatoes and bread into the stretchy cheese!

For the main course, I order the Trimmed Entrecôte Steak, which is the restaurant’s bestselling dish. The steak is unbelievably tender, and the secret sauce takes the savoriness to a whole new level.

Pro Tip:

  • I recommend taking a seat on the outdoor terrace. There, you can enjoy the cool breeze from the bay and the gorgeous view of Marina Bay Sands

The Daily Cut

Address: 1 Raffles Pl, #B1 – 31 One Raffles Place Tower 1

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Friday—11 am to 9 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday—11 am to 4 pm

Contact Number: +6569049656

Website

The Daily Cut is all about delicious dishes that are also healthy and nutritious, so if you’re on a diet, this is a great spot to check out.

Another great thing about this restaurant is that you can build your own bowl! I usually get olive brown rice with chili lime shrimp and kimchi on the side. Sometimes, I also get hot honey mustard sauce just to add a bit of sweetness to my dish.

For my drink, I like a simple iced matcha green tea because it always makes me feel refreshed and relaxed. But when I’m in the mood for something more flavorful, I get a fizzy kombucha, specifically the watermelon lime mint one.

Pro Tip:

  • Are you planning an event soon? You might want to book The Daily Cut’s catering services

Kinki Restaurant + Bar

Address: 70, #02-02 Collyer Quay, Customs House

Operating Hours: Monday to Saturday—12 to 3 pm, 6 to 10:30 pm

Contact Number: +6583636697

Website

Kinki Restaurant + Bar is located on the rooftop, which means you’ll have a gorgeous view of the city center while dining! It’s even better if you’re dining during the night because the sight of the twinkling skyscrapers is breathtaking.

I like coming here for dinnertime, and I always order the foie gras and scallop nigiri roll because I love how the soy reduction adds so much umami to the seared foie gras and Hokkaido scallops.

Aside from the sushi rolls, I recommend the lamb rack. It’s Koji-aged and perfectly baked, so every bite is tender and savory. It’s also big enough for two people, so I tend to order it when I’m out on a date with my partner.

Pro Tip:

  • Come here on a Saturday or public holiday, between 12 pm and 3 pm, to take advantage of the bottomless brunch!

Cha Re Re 차르르

Address: 1 Raffles Pl, #B1-19

Operating Hours: Monday to Friday—10 am to 8:30 pm

Contact Number: +6590499926

Website

Korean cuisine is all the rage these days, so if you’re craving it so badly, you need to go to Cha Re Re 차르르.

The menu here is relatively small, and it’s filled with hot stews and grilled meat bowls. Whenever it’s raining outside, I like to order the original kimchi stew because its spicy broth warms me up instantly (I also like eating the tofu and pork belly toppings).

If I want something more filling, I get the Wild One Bowl, which is grilled chicken with egg and kimchi. It’s such a simple dish, and yet I feel satisfied every time I finish eating.

Pro Tip:

  • If you don’t like to eat kimchi, you can request not to put it in your dish. In return, you might get more meat (at least that’s what happened to my friend the last time we came here).

JoAh Korean Restaurant

Address: 1 Raffles Pl, #03-21/22

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Friday—11:30 am to 3 pm, 5:30 to 9 pm
  • Saturday—11:30 am to 3 pm

Contact Number: +6564386484

Website

Another great Korean spot in Raffles Place is JoAh Korean Restaurant. This restaurant has a cozy, almost comforting, atmosphere, so I always feel at ease here—almost like I’m dining in my own home.

Fried chicken is the main highlight here. It’s so crispy and delicious on its own, but sometimes, I do like to dip it into the spicy sauce. Technically, this is better for sharing, but I admit that I can (and like to) finish the whole chicken by myself.

To pair your chicken, you should get the kimchi fried rice. The rice is savory and spicy, and the runny yolk from the egg makes it even richer in flavor.

Pro Tip:

  • This restaurant sells DIY frozen meal kits that are perfect whenever you’re hungry but don’t feel like cooking. Frozen soups are the most common, but there are also frozen bulgogi, Korean pancakes, and more.

Taki Izakaya Bar

Address: 16 Collyer Quay, #01-05A B

Operating Hours

  • Monday and Tuesday—11:30 am to 10 pm
  • Wednesday to Friday—11:30 am to 11 pm

Contact Number: +6580306515

Website

What I love about Taki Izakaya Bar is that it makes you feel like you’re in Japan yourself. There’s even a (fake) cherry tree in one corner, so you can just imagine you’re dining somewhere in Tokyo!

As you can expect from a Japanese restaurant, this spot offers a wide variety of sushi and sashimi options. I like to get a variety when I’m here. My favorites are currently torched salmon, unagi with egg and cucumber, and dragon roll (salmon and prawn).

Aside from rolls, I enjoy the chicken teriyaki. The teriyaki marinade perfectly coats the chicken, so the sweet-spicy flavor is almost embedded in the meat. Plus, it has that additional charred, smokey flavor that elevates the dish.

Pro Tip:

  • Book this restaurant for a special event (such as get-togethers, lunch meetings, and corporate dinners).
