The Best Shooting Ranges in Singapore to Let Out Your Frustration

Whenever I feel stressed, I look for stress relievers. It might sound bonkers, but hear me out: shooting is a really fun way to do so. I do so safely in a range, of course!

I can picture the root of my stress as my target—the piling bills at home or the existential crisis brought by the state of the world—so it feels cathartic.

If you’d love to unwind after a long week by shooting a few rounds, here are the shooting ranges in Singapore worth checking out.

NTU Sport Shooting Club

From: ntusportshooting

Address: 110 Nanyang Cres, Nanyang Technological University
Website
Sign Up

If you’re a student at Nanyang Technological University, then you’ll be delighted to know that there’s a shooting range within the campus! You do have to be a part of the club, though, so feel free to send in your application if you’re interested.

This shooting range is located indoors and is quite spacious. It’s also dedicated to 10-meter air pistol and rifle events.

Even though this club is only available to members all year round, sometimes, they have these events called Invitational Shoots (NIS) that let the public participate in a friendly competition. I tried this once back in the day, and it was such a fun experience.

Obviously, I didn’t win anything, but it was nice befriending fellow like-minded people. They were so nice and readily gave me words of advice to improve my technique!

Pro Tip: If you want to join an NIS, applications for the year are open every January. Check this page during that time.

SAFRA Indoor Air Weapons Range

  • Tuesday to Saturday—9:30 am to 9:30 pm

SAFRA Country Club is located all the way up north in Yishun, which may seem inconvenient to people living in the city, but it’s definitely worth checking out. This club has an indoor air weapons range where you can decompress!

What I like about this range is that it has 33 lanes, so there’s room for everybody. Sometimes, during off-peak hours, only a few people are in the range, and it feels very peaceful. It almost feels like I’m in my own world.

The range is also equipped with the latest electronic target system, making it perfect for regional and national shooting competitions. I’ve never participated in or watched a competition held here, but now I’m curious. Maybe sometime in the future!

Pro Tip: It’s possible to host a party or organize a team-building activity at this range. You just have to send a request via email ([email protected]).

Singapore Gun Club

From: pingerrain

Address: National Shooting Center, 990 Old Choa Chu Kang Road
Website

If you’re really passionate about guns, then you might want to join the Singapore Gun Club. This club has several tiers of membership, and people as young as 14 years old can join!

When you’re a member of this club, you can enjoy several fun perks. These include the ability to use any of the facilities, such as the pistol and rifle range.

If you’re new to shooting, don’t worry because there’s a field captain who will hold a basic introductory course for you. Even my friends who aren’t into shooting find this range very relaxing and fun.

Pro Tips:

  • You have to book your session at the range beforehand. You can do so by sending an email request to [email protected]
  • Wear comfortable sports attire with covered shoes. The field captain might prohibit you from shooting if you don’t stick to the dress code.

Multi-Mission Range Complex

From: lisaintanc

Address: 300 Pasir Laba Rd, Singapore

The interesting thing about the Multi-Mission Range Complex (MMRC) is that it’s actually used to train real soldiers every year. So, you’ll feel like a soldier yourself when shooting here!

What I love about this range is that there are traditional shooting practices that help beginners learn the basics. And if you want something advanced, there are also advanced marksmanship programs available.

Additionally, the range has an advanced video target system, which provides shooting simulations that feel so real you’ll forget you’re just a hobbyist! It’s a great experience, though, because I get to improve my shooting skills.

Pro Tip: Bag checks are very strict here. So, I suggest packing light if you have to bring a bag. Sticking to the essentials (phone, ID, and wallet) is also a good idea.

Denkers Sports World Shooting

From: hellodenker

Address: 1/A, Tampines Street 92, #B1-L3, L4 SAFRA Tampines
Operating Hours

  • Tuesday to Friday—3 to 9:30 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday—12 to 9:30 pm

Website

Denkers Sports World Shooting is another shooting range located in a SAFRA club, though this time, it’s the one located in Tampines. The best part about this range is that even children are welcome to learn this activity!

This place is also not exclusive to Singaporeans and permanent residents; it’s open to tourists as well. It’s actually a fun experience shooting with foreigners because you’ll get to learn new techniques you’ve never tried before.

Sometimes, there are fun shooting games being hosted here, and I always love participating in them—even if I never win (I get anxious during competitions, okay!).

Pro Tip: Weekdays are only available by appointment only. You can schedule your own session via email ([email protected]).
