I got a sugar high tasting the best Thai milk teas in Singapore!
If there’s one non-alcoholic beverage I can’t resist, it’s a good cha yen or Thai iced milk tea, especially if it’s smooth, creamy, and packed with that signature bold tea flavour.
Good thing we’ve got lots of places here that serve up this tasty drink. I’ve sipped my way through various spots to find the absolute best Thai milk tea in Singapore so you don’t have to waste time on anything substandard. Straws out!

For a Thai milk tea fanatic like me, I find that Tuk Tuk Cha doesn’t mess around with its offerings. It’s rich and addictive, having an authentic flavour that brings me to Bangkok with every sip.
It’s just S$2.80 per serving, too, which is great for my pocket! That’s a steal for the classic bold-on-tea, smooth-on-milk cha yen mix that’s just the right amount of sweetness.
Pro-tip: If you’re feeling adventurous, try the shop’s Thai green milk tea or Thai milk coffee which are just as yummy.

I like that the Thai milk tea at New Udon Mookata is made on the spot, so it’s creamy and hits with a slightly bitter kick that keeps me coming back. It’s just around S$1.50 per serving, and I can have it any time of the day.
Since I can get it in a mookata (Thai BBQ place), I usually pair my favourite sizzling grilled pork dishes with a glass (or two) of Thai milk tea. It’s a no-frills, no-fuss brew that consistently delivers on flavour.
Pro-tip: You can request your milk tea to have stronger tea at no extra cost!
Nakhon Kitchen

Contact: +6564436976
Hours: Daily, 11 AM–2.30 PM, 4.30–9.30 PM
Price: $
The cha yen at Nakhon Kitchen is as legit as its fiery Thai dishes. It’s bolder and sweeter than others I’ve tried, but I find it pairs well to wash down some spicy Pad Thai or hot Tom Yum.
There are branches in Hougang, Bedok, and Holland Village, all with street-style Thai flavours minus the pricey airfare. For just S$3, it’s a refreshing beverage for hot summer days.
Pro-tip: Expect a lunchtime queue on most days, but it usually moves fast.

If there’s a local place that comes close to perfecting Thai milk tea, I reckon it would be Baan Kanom Thai. The restaurant brews it with real tea leaves and enriches the drink with condensed milk so every sip is a fragrant and creamy experience.
At just around S$3 per serving, the milk tea here is an affordable addition to an authentic Thai dining experience. It’s especially good with grilled pork skewers and steamed fish as entrees.
Pro-tip: Give the unique pandan pancakes a try with Thai milk tea on the side for a sweet snack.

Hours: Daily, 11 AM–9.30 PM
Price: $
On especially hot days, I like my Thai milk tea to come with a full cup of ice. Thankfully, ChaTraMue does this the same way they do in Thailand (another tropical country!).
There’s no need to worry about watered-down milk tea, though. The tea here stays rich and creamy while mellowing out over time.
Pro-tip: Opt for “less sweet” when you order if you’re watching your sugar intake.

Though I wouldn’t go out of my way just to get Thai milk tea at this place, I have to admit that its cha yen could be the star of the show during lunch or dinner here.
Fi Woodfire Thai brews it strong and silky smooth, so it matches well with the restaurant’s smoky, flame-kissed Thai dishes. Every sip is rich and packed with a bold tea flavour that’s enjoyable.
Pro-tip: Pair it with some Thai grilled chicken which has a juicy, spicy, and charred flavour.

I got the Thai milk tea at Suk’s Thai Kitchen with a set meal (a S$1 top-up), and it’s worth every cent! It’s got a milky, bold, and balanced flavour that is both refreshing and filling.
I also like having the drink with the restaurant’s yummy prawn cakes which are packed with real prawn bits. It makes every sip and bite of my Thai lunch taste and look like the real deal they serve on Thailand streets.
Pro-tip: The Thai milk tea also goes well with kluay tod (fried banana) with its caramelly crunchiness bringing out the tea’s creaminess.

My go-to pairing at Khao Hom by Rung Mama? Tom yum fried rice and tom yum soup with a bold Thai milk tea: the perfect mix of spicy, sour, and creamy!
The tom yum soup is loaded with juicy prawns and squid while the milk tea is thick without being overly sweet. I used to think it was a dangerous combo, but this is the kind of meal that captures the essence of Thai cuisine for me.
Pro-tip: End your meal with the restaurant’s fabulous coconut ice cream which is smooth and refreshing.

Yung yung has become popular with its bread offerings in the form of Yaowarat buns. These are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and loaded with all sorts of creamy fillings like peanut butter and Biscoff.
But I also like its twists on traditional Thai milk tea. My favourite is the mango jelly milk tea with the soft and bouncy mango cubes giving a pleasant texture and complementing the light tea. It’s a great mix of chewy, creamy, and refreshing.
Pro-tip: There are a couple of seats available, but the shop is primarily for takeaways.
Ros Lamul

Address: 379 Guillemard Road

Hours: Daily, noon–3 PM, 4.30–10 PM

Ros Lamul’s Thai milk tea is one of the most fragrant I’ve encountered so far. It’s spiced just right, the way they do it in Bangkok, and has the aroma of freshly brewed tea.
The whole place screams authenticity, and it delivers with its food, as well. In particular, the Thai fish cake is a standout with its hand-carved carrot garnish—a thoughtful and creative touch that made my meal extra pleasant.
Pro-tip: Go ahead and order the spicy dishes with your milk tea—Ros Lamul has air conditioning!

I never thought I’d pair Thai milk tea with a bowl of noodles but Siam Smith made it happen for me. Its rich and creamy tom yum noodles are packed with flavour and complement the milkiness of the Thai beverage.
The tea is smooth, fragrant, and not cloyingly sweet. At over S$6 per serving, it’s pricier than most—but hey, it’s in Palais Renaissance, after all.
Pro-tip: If you don’t feel like noodles, try the refreshing and zesty mango salad. It goes great with the milk tea here, too!

Super Thai serves Thai food with a contemporary twist, including its Soi Arroy Thai iced tea (a bit pricey at a little over S$4). I love that I can customise the sweetness of this drink so I can adjust it according to the food I order.
The restaurant’s tom yum clear soup is super authentic, and by that I mean its spice levels are off the charts! It’s fiery but worth it, and it’s a good thing I got my trusty milky beverage to help cool things down.
Pro-tip: Try Super Thai’s Red Ruby dessert—crunchy water chestnuts in coconut milk that add a refreshing contrast to Thai milk tea.
