What to Do in Admiralty Park

Go on an adventurous play date with your kids

Admiralty Park Playground offers plenty of swings, including the Expression Swing at the Junior Play area.

This unique swing features both a bucket seat and a regular seat on the same swing, allowing parents to join in the fun without endlessly pushing their little ones.

The park also has a few small sandboxes where your kids can have a blast building sandcastles. These sand play areas usually come with shaded spots nearby, perfect for parents to kick back and keep an eye on the little ones.

Go down Singapore’s longest outdoor slide

You can test your courage on the Curved Roller Slide, stretching a whopping 34 metres in length. While it might not be the speediest ride in town, it holds the title of being the longest outdoor slide in any public park in Singapore (so far!).

I did it once on a dare and managed to get to the other side unscathed, but there was a bit of sore behind involved, afterwards.

Reconnect with nature

To get away from the hustle and bustle of the urban jungle, I simply head north of the playground at Admiralty Park into the nature area—a hidden zone for unwinding and rejuvenation.

Surrounded by the tranquil Sungei Cina River, it’s the perfect place for a stroll or refreshing jog once the little ones have exhausted themselves on the playground.

Spot exotic wildlife

Explore the mangrove at Admiralty Park where you can spot one of the world’s largest mudskippers. Watch as it moves in and out of its burrow, resembling a large mud pool.

Moreover, admire the unique roots of the mangroves, specially adapted to thrive in the dynamic environment between land and sea.

Also keep an eye out for colourful species like the blue dasher, common parasol, and spine-tufted skimmer. Bring your trusty binoculars to be prepared.

Train privately in a gym pod

The Gym Pod offers a convenient fitness solution for shy workout types like yours truly. Located near Republic Polytechnic, it’s perfect for students and residents alike, offering 24-hour access to a variety of equipment.

Students can take advantage of the gym’s special offer. Just download The Gym Pod App, verify your student ID, and enjoy 15% off all bookings.

Pack a picnic lunch

Having a picnic by the scenic Sungei Cina River at Admiralty Park is one of my family’s favourite spots to unwind. The serene atmosphere and lush greenery make it the perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Pack a blanket, some snacks, and your favourite book, and find a cosy spot along the riverbank. I swear, you’ll love the soothing sounds of the water flowing and the gentle rustling of leaves (it’s okay to doze off, no one will judge!).
