A Guide to Pororo Park for the Coolest Playdate in Town

My little ones introduced me to Pororo Park because, apparently, all their friends have been there and now they have major FOMO about it.

It’s the first character-themed indoor playground in the Lion City filled with fun things like a Pororo Express train and an Arctic-inspired obstacle course. Oh, and a pretend supermarket and a little theatre, as well!

As for me, I’m all for places that are designed for kids to happily burn energy while their parents relax. Let’s see what other attractions this play haven has in store for little ones, from the POV of a child-minder.

By MRT: Take the Circle Line or North-South Line and alight at Esplanade MRT (CC3) or City Hall MRT (NS25/EW13). From Esplanade MRT, take Exit B and walk through Marina Square to Level 2. If coming from City Hall MRT, use the underground link to Marina Square and follow signs to the park.

By bus: Take SBS Transit 36, 56, 70M, 97, 111, 133, 162M, 195, or 502 and alight at Marina Square (Bus Stop 02119). From there, enter Marina Square and head to Level 2 where the park is located.

By car or taxi/drop-off: Set your destination to Marina Square (6 Raffles Boulevard). Use the Marina Square Car Park, with entrances from Raffles Boulevard, Nicoll Highway, or Esplanade Drive. For taxi drop-offs, alight at the Marina Square main entrance.

Things to See and Do

Explore Petty’s Supermarket

The little ones love role-playing grocery shopping at home, so I’m glad there’s a Petty’s Supermarket in the park to bring that game to life. It features tiny shopping carts and play-money registers, and I have to admit feeling a teensy bit jealous about the set-up.

The kids can pick out pretend fruit, scan items, and bag their own “purchases.” It’s a simple pretend play scenario, but watching them excitedly ring up their groceries like little pros is oddly satisfying.

Pro-tip: Encourage your child to play both shopper and cashier for a fuller experience!

Catch a show at Tong Tong’s Little Theatre

With big Pororo fans in tow, there’s no way we could pass up the chance to watch a show at Tong Tong’s Little Theatre. The moment the music started and Pororo waddled onstage, they were instantly glued to the action.

To be honest, the sing-alongs were pretty catchy even if I’ve heard the songs a hundred times at home. Plus, it was fun seeing the kids dance along without a care.

Pro-tip: The shows are just around 10 to 15 minutes long so don’t worry about kids getting bored or restless.

Brave Poby’s Jungle Gym

Poby’s Jungle Gym is the place to be if you have kids like mine who have lots of energy to burn. It has slides, tunnels, and climbing structures set in a mini-adventure course that keeps them moving non-stop.

I watched them navigate obstacles and figure out the best ways to climb or slide down. Honestly, the only challenge I faced as a parent was to convince them to take a break once they were in full explorer mode.

Pro-tip: The soft-padded play structures are designed for young kids aged 2 to 6 years old.

Hop on the Pororo Express Train

The Pororo Express Train is a short ride, but there was no way my kids would miss it. The moment the train started moving, their eyes lit up and they were chanting “choo choo” all the way.

It’s a great break between all that climbing and running, so I gave them the chance to sit back and enjoy the ride. The staff are on hand to make sure everything is safe, so I had some time to relax, as well.

Pro-tip: Remind the kids to stay seated and hold on to the safety bars for the duration of the ride.

Play in the Shark Ball Pool

The Shark Ball Pool is another simple setup within Pororo Park but boy, does it draw in all the kids! I guess there’s something about sinking into the pit and tossing balls around that never gets old.

The sea of bright balls is where toddlers can literally dive right into the fun. I like that it features mini slides and some shark figures to keep their imagination alive.

Pro-tip: Grip socks are required for safety at the ball pit, and loose accessories and jewellery should be removed.

Experience sensory play at the Hinoki Pit

Imagine a giant sandbox but instead of sand, it’s filled with soft, fragrant Hinoki cubes. It sounds intimidating, but it’s a surprisingly calming experience for the kids, thanks to the Hinoki pit’s natural wood scent that was probably like aromatherapy for them.

It was amazing the way they started scooping up the cubes and burying their feet in them like they were at the beach.

Pro-tip: Hinoki wood is naturally antibacterial and mould-resistant, but if your kids have respiratory issues, make sure to closely monitor their playtime at the pit.

Visit Pororo’s house

The kids had a chance to step right into the cartoon they love at Pororo’s House. The cosy setup had everything from Pororo’s bed to his little kitchen which the little ones went nuts over.

They pretended to cook meals, sat on the couch, and explored the miniature house like welcome guests. It was a cute experience overall.

Pro-tip: Pororo’s House can get crowded especially on weekends and holidays. To avoid the rush, visit early in the morning or on weekdays.

Meet and greet Pororo and his friends

Being huge Pororo fans meant we needed to stick around until Pororo and his friends Loopy, Poby, Eddy, and the rest made an appearance. When they did, it became the ultimate highlight of their park visit.

The moment Pororo waddled out, the little ones started squealing in delight and rushed to hug his midsection. It was a quick but magical experience that I managed to capture with my phone’s camera.

Pro-tip: Expect long queues for the meet-and-greet, so arrive early to secure a good spot.

Get a souvenir from Rody’s Toy Store

The kids wanted to bring a bit of Pororo magic home so I indulged them and allowed them to pick out some items at Rody’s Toy Store. It’s got everything from plushies, backpacks, and other Pororo-themed merchandise.

They got a couple of tiny Crong keychains and full-sized Pororo dolls each, which made them quite happy for at least a week.

Pro-tip: Expect to shell out S$10 to S$15 for small items, and upwards of S$50 for larger merch.

Have a snack at Loopy’s Cafe

After all the running and climbing, we went to Loopy’s Cafe to refuel. The menu has kid-friendly snacks like sandwiches, fries, waffles, and cute Pororo-themed bites.

As for me, I’m glad there’s a spot inside Pororo Park where I can grab a caffeinated beverage when I’m taking a break from chasing the kids around.

Pro-tip: You’ll likely spend around S$8 to S$15 per person at the cafe.
